More than enough power to keep your running smooth and safe.
Having used many APC products in my professional life, I wasn't surprised to find the fantastic quality of this product. I was a little confused by the connections and interfaces (a USB to RJ45 cable...really?!), but that may just be because I'm used to the commercial kit. After thoroughly reading the manual though I did get everything setup as I needed. Works exceptionally well with my Synology NAS, once plugged in the NAS set itself up before I even found the options! I was having quite a few issues with input voltage irregularity prior to getting this, but once I set the UPS to it's maximum sensitivity, everything is working perfectly. This capacity will run a four-bay NAS for two and a half hours however, so I'm going to get a smaller unit for the NAS and move this to my main rig setup instead. The only downside is that although you can set the screen to turn off after a set time, there seems to be no way to disable the button LEDs so the unit always gives off a white glow which can be a little annoying at times. As a final note, I had my NAS running straight from the mains for around 5 months prior to getting this UPS and never had an issue; after only having it setup for a few weeks, something blew and caused a huge surge which took out a many other electronics. You really never know when your luck is going to run out so make sure you're prepared, I could have lost 10TB of data if I didn't have this UPS.

Very good UPS.
This is used in my office and powers various monitors, printer, network, NAS drive and laptops. In total it’s running a load of around 250 watts and showing a battery runtime of around 40 mins which is more than enough to cope with most domestic power outages. My guess is that when the time comes the only downside will be the battery replacement will be expensive. I also own two Cyberpower UPS’s and the batteries for those cost about £17 whereas the APC is over £100 if you go with a genuine APC one. Just one to think about a couple of years down the road. Apart from that. It is easy to install has 10 IEC sockets on the rear (all surge protected and 5 covered by the battery). Also, has surge protection for your network which is great if you have network cables that run outside of the building and also helps to remove noise over longer cable runs.

Easy to set up and operate
Having recently purchased this item, the build quality is good, the display is clear and functional. The only downside is that the product did not come with a UK plug to allow me to plug the UPS into the wall socket.

Absolutely awful and noisy as hell - stay well away!
With a load < 300W this UPS is perfect and deadly silent. Anything above 300W and below 400W and the fan kicks in every few seconds driving me absolutely mad. All of my peripherals combined are requiring ~330W of power which means the fan goes on and off every few seconds! Normally the fan SHOULD kick on only when running on batteries to cool the UPS down (understandably) but this unit is very picky about the load. Interesting thing is that the air that's being extracted by the fan is totally COLD and the unit is not even warm to touch. I would stay well away and look for a fanless UPS unless you lock yours away in a cupboard where you can't hear the damn fan.

Very reliable and informative.
This device is used to supply power to a number of rack mounted devices in my home, CCTV servers, media servers, sonos amps, desktop pc and nas drives. There are multiple options for connectivity to allow for graceful or hard shutdown of different devices when power gets low, and the information provided on the LCD screen is very usefulwhen looking at power draws from various equipment when it switches on or is under load. It has only ever been tested "in agnger" a few wtimes when we had power cuts, but the device worked flawlesly. The pwoer was never out long enough to invoke a shutdown scenario, but the included software reported the incidents as it should and works well. It is a shame that the rack mounted equivalent is so much more expensive for essentially the same device but in a different format. So I went for the floor standing version and it sits on a shelf alongside its additional battery at the bottom of a 19" rack. pros: compact informative lcd and software multiple connectivity options cons: rack mount version is expensive for the same product in a different format.

Great easy to use product, plagued by poor firmware and battery quality control.
Product in and of itself is quite nice in terms of size and performance, it's got a good display that offers you a lot of important information about current load voltage and battery status/live time. Battery wise the product arrived with a battery that died in 2 weeks and it has since been replaced for free with a battery that only works once the whole system is powered off completely and battery removed. If you powered off the UPS by mistake you have to remove the battery to power it back on. The unit itself has some pretty bad firmware bugs where the UPS fan starts going full speed for no reason, no increase in load, load under 30%, no increase in temperature, and it just stays at full speed and makes an absolute horrendous noise. Lucky for me I found a workaround as I have it connected via USB to my PC and use their PowerChute software. If you trigger a self-test the UPS goes back to normal and the fan stops spinning like crazy.

Doesn't produce a Pure Sine Wave Signal
Hi When I tested the Pro 1500 UPS my Computer Power Supply started Buzzing on Battery Backup. I own a CORSAIR 650W ENTHUSIAST SERIES(tm) TX650 V2-80 PLUS® BRONZE Power Supply. ******************************************* Inserting power cable for first time: the computer power supply will buzz during windows7 booting up, only does this once! Testing the battery will cause my computer power supply to start buzzing. ******************************************* Feedback from APC, they say my Pro 1500 UPS (£269) doesn't produce a Pure Sine Wave Signal. I was told the buzzing will not harm my CORSAIR 650W power supply. If I want a UPS that doesn't buzz the computer power supply I need to buy the: SMT1500I APC SMT1500I 980W Smart Uninterruptible Power Supplies - £430.79 (produces a pure sine wave signal). I have been reading the corsair forum. I quote from the corsair forum: With some UPS backups you will get buzzing with high efficiency PSU's. This will not damage any of the components in the system. Corsair suggests nothing but pure sine wave UPS's with their PSU's **************************************** 26/11/13 Just came back and turned my PC on, after about 5 to 10mins the PC Power Supply started buzzing and windows7 froze, couldn't move my mouse cursor. Had to turn the power off on the UPS using the power off switch. I bought my PC on the 10th March 2013, never had any problems until using the UPS. I'm testing the UPS to see if the problem reoccurs. 27/11/13 to 14/1/14 No more problems to report yet. *************************************** Jonathan

Brilliant backups!
This is without doubt the best UPS I have had. This is a delight for the 'Techie', like me, front panel display, permanently lit, showing input voltage, load, settings and backup time! Software actually works (rare) on this unit, analysis of past performance, battery level and all settings available on PC on demand. Well done APC, this does exactly what it says on the tin!!

Sehr gute USV
