DC Universe 10th Anniversary collection (BD)

If you've been a religious fan of these, for the most part, wonderful pieces of cinema since they launched in 2007, and you've got the cash, this set is a nice treat. The art work featured in the 'Blu-Ray set book' is gorgeous and the collector coins are cool. If Adult Coloring Books are your thing, you may find the 40 page 'DC Animated Universe' book a blast. Of the new special features, the inclusion of the 'Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles' is a high point, and the two San Diego Comic Con DC Animated Universe Panels are enlightening and to be cherished: 2017's 'DC Universe 10th Anniversary Panel' and '2008's 'DC Universe Animation Panel Featuring Wonder Woman.' Perhaps the set's greatest offering, albeit an expensive splurge given its price, is sitting down and re-watch these great films all over again. The luckiest fans will be those who have seen only a few of these titles, or those who perhaps have yet to experience a 'DC Universe Original Movie.' Many comic book movie fans have realized over the last 10 years that a majority of these films hold their own against both Marvel and DC's live action cinematic efforts. Looking at 'Batman: Under the Red Hood,' 'Batman: Year One,' 'Wonder Woman,' 'Green Lantern: Emerald Knights,' 'Batman:The Dark Knight Returns,' 'Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox' and 'Superman VS The Elite' again, one realizes their screenplays, direction, acting, music, sound effects editing and mixing, action, drama and humor deliver what the studios attempt to bring into theaters with their blockbusters year-round these days. DC Animation does, for the most part, character study blockbuster movies with budgets that are a SMALL fraction of studio live action Blockbuster budgets, in HALF the running time, delivering motion pictures that, in many cases, look and feel like they belong up on the big screen, no matter how large your TV or monitor is. If you have yet to experience one on the big screen at Comic Con or a Fandango Event, do yourself a favor. It's a blast. Best of all, as this gorgeous set attests to, DC Universe Original Movies are highly addictive and re-watchable. Enjoy!

Im super happy with this DC 10th Anniversary Collection set. I love the amazing, beautiful artwork it's filled with!!! Being able to knock off 31 animated movies at once that I need to go towards having every animated DC movie is just a bonus. I read previous reviews by others stating their set was damged or tore when it arrived but I didn't have this happen to me. It was shipped nicley and looked great! My only complaint would be how tight the disc fit in the sleeves. With as much as I watch these movies, I didn't want to risk damaging any of the discs takin them in and out of the tight sleeve slot that I just bought a 32 disc cd case to keep them in along with the special features disc.

This was delivered on time and packaged well. Still in original factory seal which was great news for a collector. Would definitely recommend this seller

I have seen a handful of these D.C. Animated movies before and really enjoyed them. I did not own any of these movies previously, so I decided to preorder the collection. I have watched the first five films so far and I have loved every bit of this journey so far! Most of the features have been solid movies, but the special features make this collection so worth the buy! After just watching the first few films, I have seen hours of inside interviews with casts and crew. Best of all, each of these films so far have multiple Justice League, JLU, Batman animated series , and Superman animated episodes as bonus content. With special features this collection keeps on dishing out amazing entertainment! This has been one of my all time favorite buys!

I am about half way through watching these and am not disappointed. Although I am generally a Marvel fan, their animated products are generally sub par. DC is light-years ahead, especially in their feature length options. That being said, I can't give this 5 stars for a reason that seems to be a common opinion, the storage. Risk of scratches are secondary when compared to ease of access. Getting these discs out is down right frustrating with so little of the disc being accessible while inserted in the page. And, yes, of course I am concerned about the potential of scratches. Perhaps the design wouldn't be so unacceptable if they had just left a larger opening in order to grab the disc. But, no, the tight fit would still be a problem. I have several large collector's editions from other sources, notably the Harry Potter Hogwart's collection. Those movies are far more accessible. There is still the issue of them being pulled out from what is essentially a cardboard sleeve, but the relative ease of extracting them has me far less concerned with the potential scratching. Oh, one thing they did right was having the discs cohesively labeled. Not a big fan of the simple black aesthetic, but at least they didn't simply repackage previous mismatched releases. Overall a great set, if only they had gotten the disc storage right.

Absolutely incredible set of the first 10 years of DC Animated Universe movies. I already had most of these movies but I was very happy to get the remainder as well as Blu-ray copies of a couple that I had on DVD. Overall, the quality of the set was superb. There are some excellent movies included as well as some that I did not enjoy as much. The movies and extras are in sturdy cardboard case which looks very nice. The movies are stored inside thick cardboard pages so the collection opens like a book. That is one of two things I did not like about the set but the movies are well secured inside. The other thing I did not like was that the collection does not fit in my DVD shelves. That isn't a big deal and is just a cosmetic concern. The box is quite nice and does look good sitting atop my shelf.

I both love and hate this set, but mostly love it. First the positive. The set is gorgeous. It is nicely packaged, has fantastic artwork and looks terrific when displayed. The quality of the movies included, for the most part, is great. DC animation (whether it's the varous animated series or the feature length movies) is typically top notch. Beautiful animation with solid acting and story telling. This set gives you 30 animated movies from the DC Universe plus some shorts and random bonus episodes all in one nice looking collection. It's not cheap, but you do get a lot of content. Now for the negative. I really only have one complaint when it comes to this set but (for me) it's a big one. While the box and packaging all look fantastic, it lacks a bit when it comes to functionality. All of the discs are stored in pockets that are part of the pages in the insrerted book. I'm not the biggest fan of this style of packaging for optical media to begin with. With this set, it's especially frustrating. The problem is that very little of the discs are left exposed from the pockets. This means there isn't much area to grab when you want to pull a disc out and watch. Combine that with the fact that several of the discs on my set are in these pockets really (and I mean really) tightly. I shouldn't have to put this much effort into taking a disc out so that I can watch it. Unfortunately, this means that it's pretty much inevitable that some of the discs are going to get scuffed up or scratched. That's a huge problem for me. I don't want to risk damaging a disc every time I want to watch one of the movies. However, because of how the set is packaged, that's exactly the risk you take. There has to of been a better way to store the discs so that you don't risk damaging them like this. Had the discs been stored better, this collection would have been an easy five stars from me. Unfortunately I see this issue as a big enough problem that I had to knock a couple points off.

Do I regret buying this no, should I have waited yes. But in saying that, I really do love this collection. The outer box did come messed up and I did tape the corners up so it wouldn’t fall apart but I look at what comes in the box. Which is a decade’s worth of DC Movies, it’s also a limited edition numbered version which I didn’t think I would get. For the dvd book for that lack of a better term, it has cool art work printed on the dvd sleeves. As for removing the dvds it take some wiggling and you do have touch the back of the dvd but it’ll not impossible to get them out and you can clean the dvd by wiping them off on a T-shirt. The booklet is cool in the fact that its a coloring book of all of the dvds individual cover art. I would definitely recommend this to a DC Fan

El empaque, las monedas y el libro que contiene los discos son bastante agradables a la vista. Las películas, quien más quien menos ya las conocemos, pero tenerlas en un formato oficial que cuida la calidad de la animación es bueno. Hubiera deseado que se esperaran para poder incluir las películas de Superman, de su muerte y el Reino, pero... Supongo que será después.

Purchased this and it arrived with the display box beaten up and broken. Sorted a return and purchased a second which had the exact same issue. Returning the second one now and won't bother buying again

The content itself (movies,book and those 3 coins) are good but the box itself is tearing and ripped in some places, the inside of the box and back look scuffed with white marks and getting the dvds out without leaving fingerprint marks is nearly impossible but if u can get a good quality version its worth it
