Foxwell NT301 Review
Comprehensive to use. Read codes 1st time. Reported Adblue error. Reset after topping up. Engine Management light now off and no errors reported. Cheaper than 1 hour (5 mins) at the Ford garage.

A very useful tool
I had a fault with my XTrail in way of a warning light coming on. I bought the scanner to see if I could identify the fault and fix it myself. This scanner was affordable and appeared to fit my requirements. The scanner arrived in good time and well packed. I put the disc in the PC and found it does not work with windows 10 which was disappointing but after re reading the advert it was mentioned that it wouldn't.An oversight by me; though I am not sure how I will up date the unit in the future! So I read the instructions plugged the unit into the car and it displayed on its screen that the crank sensor was faulty, could not be easier. Found where the sensor was fitted and removed it which was very awkward due to its location. The unit has paid for its self with one use as the garage quote was a lot more than the unit and part put together.

A very cost effective tool for the modern technology cars!
As someone who has been driving for about 45 years the way cars are designed has changed rapidly and with the new Technologies cars cannot be fixed the old way. This diagnostic tool is similar to one my son has and I found it easy to use and at an excellent price. I was able to sort out my car problem out quite easily and I am sure if I had gone to a garage the cost would have easily matched the price or cost more than what I have paid. Another main advantage is that I have this tool so I can use it over and over again at no further cost. My car showed a fault related to the diesel particulate filter probably caused due to the very cold weather and I have not used the car very much over the Christmas period. This tool was needed to clear the code that was restricting the engine power and because I had done some mileage not so long ago I knew the problem was not too serious and was able to clear the code restoring normal driving conditions. This tool cannot regenerate the diesel particulate filter but it can clear the code very easily.

ODB2 reader that actually works!
Bought this ODB2 reader to investigate why the yellow engine light (MIL) has come on my Honda after a long journey.Having already tried the cheap ODB2 Bluetooth readers off here (complete waste of time) and given that the local dealer wanted £60.00 just to look at it, I thought for the cost I would try this one. Plugged it into the ODB2 port under the dash and it took about 60 seconds to run through all the protocols until it established a link with the cars ECU. Once connected the menu is easy to navigate and it was very straight forward to find the fault codes stored in the cars ECU. Five more minutes on google and I knew it was a engine sensor fault. (The sensor cost £17.00 and was easy to replace!) - There is also a menu option to 'reset' or clear the fault codes from the car once its repaired. Finally there is another menu that will 'talk' to the ECU in real time while the engine is running giving live data about the engine if required. There is also a CD that ships with the unit to update its firmware online, however I never used this as it worked fine first time.

Absolutely terrible
I'd honestly not recommend this product at all. Car is lit up like a Christmas tree and plug this in for it to say zero faults. No codes. Checked if it's good for my car, apparently it is, clearly not. It's a dud machine is all I can say. Also says on the monitors it monitored 3 things and 7 it didn't. Crazy bad.A big waste of money and unfortunately with these they say you can't return. This brand is on my banned list.
