Good Power Supply with some minor cons
Being the first Power Supply to own, I find it pretty good, with a few desirable features. PROS: Good build quality, good voltage and current accuracy, easy to manipulate settings, alligator clips included. The memory settings function, Output ON/OFF, OCP, OVP are very useful. Switched power supply so it is small and light weight. CONS: 1. Memory button (M1, M2, M3), OCP, OVP etc backlights too dim. ON/OFF backlight is intense enough. 2. Product pictures represent Model no. 1306S but got sent 1306. Although, could not find the ‘S’ model description on UNI-T website so not sure whats the difference. 3. Even with OCP or OVP turned ON, it will allow the current / voltage to exceed for a moment before the protections kick in. This is something to be aware of. 4. With the output turned ON, user can accidentally change the voltage/current value by pressing the M1/2/3 buttons. This can blow up a test circuit if the new parameters exceed the ratings. Locking the keypad will prevent this.
