We use it nightly
*Really long review, but I wanted to be as thorough as possible.* I think this is a really smart invention. We have used the SlumberPod every night for 9 weeks and will continue to use it while our baby (currently 13 weeks) room shares with us. Before I get into the review, I think it’s appropriate to offer a little back story so you understand my perspective and why we use this product. When I was pregnant, we didn’t “prepare” our cat well for bringing a baby home. At the time, our cat slept in our room on a cat bed and we would leave the door open, so he can roam around during the night if he chose. When we brought our daughter home from the hospital, we put her in our room in a pack-n-play and had to close the door at night (cat not in the room) because we were concerned he would jump in the pack-n-play. This made our cat cry and moan and meow ALL NIGHT LONG. This went on for weeks. I figured he would eventually stop meowing at all hours of the night, but at 3 weeks he was still going strong. While I was pregnant, I saw SlumberPod on a Facebook group I follow and people were raving about it, but at the time I didn’t know if I would purchase it right away because it’s a bit spendy and we knew we weren’t going to travel with our baby while she’s teeny tiny. I had looked around at alternative privacy pods that were less expensive, but frankly I found something I didn’t like about the ones I had looked at... I’ll touch more on that later on, so you know where my head was when making my decision. After about 3 weeks of hardly any sleep (between a newborn baby and a cat meowing all night), I purchased SlumberPod from Amazon in the wee hours of the morning. Did I / do I feel silly spending $150 to accommodate a cat, Yes! But, what do you do?! I needed sleep and I needed my daughter to be safe. I can honestly say, it’s the best money I’ve ever spent. We can leave our bedroom door open, which means our cat doesn’t meow all hours of the night anymore. I’m a better mom when I’m fully rested. **I do feel a responsibility to say that you should use common sense when buying SlumberPod to keep an animal out of the pack-n-play/ cot. I’m not sure if the makers of SlumberPod advise using it this way, but it works for us. My cat is 11 years old and just eats and sleeps. In all truthfulness, my cat probably wouldn’t have jumped in the pack-n-play anyway, but it’s nice to have something to keep him out just in case.** Here are my thoughts on the cheaper options I had considered and why I decided to pass on them: I looked at two other privacy pods and both of them have a flat top (where SlumberPod has a dome, tent-like design). I had concerns that if the cat did try to jump on the privacy pod- thinking it’s a table or other flat surface- he would land in my baby’s pack-n-play, which is obviously a safety concern. I also read reviews where people with older kiddos had issues with the kid standing in the pack-n-play and the top opening because of the flat surface and velcro. Before using SlumberPod, I had some concerns so I want to share what those concerns were and then my findings after using it daily for 9 weeks: 1. Would my baby be able to breathe well with a tent pod over her pack-n-play? Yes, she’s able to breathe just fine. There are several air vents and we have all of them open and the SlumberPod is still plenty dark with the vents open. 2. Would it be a pain to change the sheets on the infant insert mattress while keeping SlumberPod over the pack-n-play? No issues. The pack-n-play mattress has a tri-fold, so I just fold the mattress together and slide it in and out through the large door. 3. Would the zipper wake my baby when she’s in the drowsy state and we are putting her to bed? This probably depends on your child, but we haven’t had any issues with the zipper disturbing her. Additional thoughts: I also really like the baby monitor pocket. There is a clear window inside so if you have a video monitor you can still see your child. You can’t beat the customer service! The SlumberPod inventors are a mother- daughter duo and you can tell they really do care about their customers. I know it’s a spendy product, but I honestly think it’s worth it. I look at it as an investment and since we use it nightly, the cost per use goes down each day. Although we haven’t traveled with it yet, it seems like it would be easy to travel with because it’s so compact and isn’t too heavy- and yes, it comes with a travel case.

Love this for traveling
The SlumberPod has been a total lifesaver for our family, especially when traveling or sharing a room with our little one! It creates a dark, cozy sleep space that helps our baby fall — and stay — asleep without distractions, even during the day. Setup is quick and simple, and it fits perfectly over our pack and play. One thing to note is that it’s important to ensure proper airflow — we always use a fan. With that in mind, it’s been a game changer for better naps and smoother bedtime on the go. Highly recommend for any parent looking to improve their baby’s sleep while traveling!

Works Well, Great Customer Service!
*Update* I reached out to the seller regarding the hole. They responded withon a day. After providing some information and the photos, they are sending a replacement. _______ Right out of the box, this product looked very promising and indeed can be pretty compact for travel. The instructions were attached to the travel bag, so I appreciate that they won't get easily lost and anyone should be able to read and assemble. The instructions were easy enough to understand, but getting the other end of the pole in the end cap/slot can be a bit tricky and might be easier with two people. I found it easier to assemble in a more open area, due to the poles being so long, and then just placing it over the pack-and-play (PnP). Upon assembly though, I noticed a small hole on one side. It seems small now, but already, after a few days of use, I can see it will probably get bigger over time assembling and disassembling when we travel, and we travel often. I reached out to the seller in hopes of getting a replacement. But for now, because it works so well in helping my baby stay asleep, I will continue to use until I hear from them. It really does keep it dark in there. Even in front of my south-facing windows, although some light comes through, it's not enough to cause any issues. The vents are helpful, but we still use a fan in the upper fan pocket to help keep it cool enough when zipped up. Otherwise, it will get hot and stuffy inside. I also like the fact that there is a pocket for a baby monitor. However, the plastic can make it tricky to place. Any wrinkle in it makes it impossible to see past it, so I have to spend quite a bit of time playing with it to get a clear image. But once set up, it's great to keep an eye on baby.

Best money you'll spend
This is the best money as a parent I've ever spent. It has totally changed the game in terms of traveling with a kid. We can now sleep in the same hotel room without sneaking around in the dark after 7 pm. It's surprisingly sound blocking, especially if you put the sound machine IN the tent with them. It makes my life SO much better. I actually bought a second one for my other child. It's compact enough that you can travel with it on a plane without losing all your luggage space, it's quick and easy to set up and is really durable. I would recommend this to anyone who ever has to share a room with a kid, especially if they're sleep trained.

Overall, great product that is worth the insane price tag
My husband and I bought the slumberpod for a trip with our eight month old. It worked like a charm! We were worried about sleeping in the same room as our baby, which we hadn’t done in a long time. The slumberpod is very dark inside (I gave it a try). There’s a bit of light that slips through the zipper lining, but it’s dark enough that you can’t see your own hand in front of your face. The slumberpod allowed my husband and me to get ready for bed without having to stumble in the dark and read in bed without waking our baby. It doesn’t block the noise so we just had our white noise machine right beside it. There is a small pocket at the top of the tent to put a baby monitor in. You have to play around with the angle because the plastic can really affect the visibility. We eventually got it to work pretty well. In terms of the assembly, if the bedroom is tight (as ours was), it’s best if you assembled it in a room with lots of space and then moved it. We had some difficulty assembling it. It assembled just like a tent but the rods kept slipping out of the pockets at the bottom. Having said that, we assembled it after being up for 20 hours and after travelling for 15 so I’m sure there was some user inefficiency 😂. The product is more expensive than I would like, but it’s definitely worth it. I can see us using it many more times when we travel (at least until our baby outgrows a playpen).

Top 3 baby purchases
We have had our slumberpod for 2 years now and it's still one of our fav baby items. It so useful for staying in hotels, sleeping at grandparents, traveling etc. It folds up compactly and weighs very little so great for packing in a suitcase and it fits nicely over our joovy playard, which is pretty large for a pack n play. It could easily accommodate most pack n plays. It really does block out any light and it's very breathable, so even in the summer our daughter sleeps comfortably at the cabin. It fits anywhere her joovy fits, so we set it up with her sound machine placed inside. Once we zip it up, I think she feels like its a cocoon in there bc she falls asleep very quickly and soundly. I can't say anything negative about it. It very simple to set up and take down basically like a mini tent that only has 2 rods. It holds up even if your kids get rowdy in there. We always take it with us when she can't be in her crib at home. If you are staying in a hotel, you can use their pack n play and all you need is this to create a private space for baby. This has been the only way for me and my husband to stay up past our daughter's bedtime when we're in a hotel room. Even if she's in a separate room, this helps her feel safe because her sleep surroundings look the same. There's so many random baby things we've bought and this has been one of our best purchases. So worth the money if you plan on sleeping somewhere other than your house.

Well made, but didn't help my baby's terrible naps
I used this at home to try to fix my baby's terrible naps. TLDR: it didn't work for us, but it's a good product. Pros: - I was impressed by how solidly this thing is constructed, the fabric is super heavy weight, and they've really thought the design through (for example there's extra flaps of fabric on the ground to ensure that there's no light leakage between the base of the tent and the floor. - helped my baby fall asleep independently. Most of the time she was asleep within 5 minutes of me putting her in there at naptime, though of course with some bawling. But normally trying to put her to sleep independently is like a 30 minute undertaking at least since she stands up and looks around and cries, so that was pretty impressive and helpful. Cons: - my baby's naps were no longer than usual in this, still 20-30 minutes, but I can't blame the slumberpod. Overall it's really well constructed and I think it might be great for travel and it was nice to be able to have my baby fall asleep independently so quickly, but since we don't travel much and I usually don't mind too much helping her fall asleep, it wasn't worth the price for me. But it might be for you!

Allowed us to travel so much better!
Although this is a little pricey, it did allow for a great night sleep for our baby, while we were able to still be awake and enjoy the evenings in our hotel room. Our baby goes to sleep around 6 PM so when we travel, it’s nice to not go to bed at that same time. At first I thought this was just an overpriced tent for babies, but after setting it up and using it, I realized this was a quality product. The material is very stretchy, and completely blackout, and has the ability to put sound machine and monitors inside. It allows for our baby to stand up inside and have enough breathing room. The only thing that I thought was going to be a problem was the monitor pouch at the top was a clear plastic pouch, where when you put the monitor up against it, it has some glare, but it ended up working fine, and we could see him well enough while sleeping

Vale completamente la pena , yo lo use con cuna y con colchón inflable y me ha sido súper útil. Pro tip, meto el white noise y mi bebé duerme perfecto sin luz y aislado de ruido también

A stroke of genius! Takes away one layer of stress of travelling with a baby/toddler!
What a stroke of genius! No longer are we worrying about using tin foil on windows or crap “travel blackout blinds” that don’t work…. This creates a cosy little zone for your little one and our baby settled in it within minutes thanks to the blackout it provides (even in a bright room at nanny & granddad’s). Love the pouches for the fan and the monitor. Only criticism is that because the monitor pocket is made of plastic, it clouds the view from the monitor but not so much that you can’t see anything… it’s just not as clear… but this is a price I’m willing to pay for the blackout quality and stress this takes away when travelling! Folds down nicely and is easy to put up (though would advise finding a large area to assemble it in as the poles are long and easy to catch on a wall in a smaller space 😝)

Might need to add a fan on super hot nights
Very easy to put together and dismantle. Keeps the cot space dark.
