Makes good root beer with cold water and makes good tea with hot water. Sassafras and tamarind are supposed to help decalcify the pineal gland, that's mainly why I got it, plus the fact that I love REAL root beer with sassafras (which has been banned from commercial drinks). A free sample of another herbal tea was included in my order - very nice.

I enjoyed the tea but the price is pretty steep. I have sassafras trees in my yard and have made tea from time to time using the root bark from a fallen tree. It is a challenge to collect it, so I cannot argue the price. For a robust flavor, it takes about 1/2-TBSP for a standard coffee mug and a 1-TBSP for a travel mug. So 1 oz. (the size I got) doesn't last long.

Smells and tastes amazing. Very strong flavor. Only drawback is price. 1oz. Is good for a month maybe 2 if making small individual portions. Excellent quality.

Horrible

This is the tea our parents would give us once a month to help with colds and other childhood ailments. Castor oil and sinily tea were another remedy that we used to get, but we begged for the sassafras tea. Now that I am older, I can drink it as often as I want to. Strong and wholesome.

Bought for a friend from KY, she grew up drinking sassafras tea. She told me the smell and taste were amazing and brought back so many memories from her childhood and she will be buying more of this sassafras root. I’d say this was a win!!
