Ronhill Nip Guards - AW22

I was very sceptical that these “nip guards” would work as well as the blurb seems to suggest. However seeing plenty of good reviews and being tired of sore nipples decided to give it a go. I am one of nature’s sweaters, you could put me in the Arctic and I would be soaking wet after a 2 minute stroll. I therefore struggle when training for long runs (thankfully I have never hit the point where blood is running down my front). I’ve tried lots of stuff to stop it but all of them failed. Step in Ron Hill Nip Guards, I have just been out for an 18k run in 19/20 degree heat and they worked brilliantly. Absolutely no chafing whatsoever. Whatever they make the glue out of is incredible, the guards did not move at all. However on getting home, it wasn’t agony pulling them off. The only downside with these is they are a one time only use product so could end up expensive if you have to use them very regularly. They are also probably not very good for the environment for the same reason. In all though I have to say I am very impressed and they will definitely be part of my kit for any long run. I know Amazon recommend uploading a photo for reviews, but I don’t think any of you need to have that inflicted on you.

I only ever tend to use these for half marathons and above but every time I’ve used them they’ve worked a treat. They stick on fine and I actually find them hard to get off (without hurting at least!).

The products work very well for the intended purpose but for the price, the packaging they come in is pathetic. It is not possible to travel with the original container because it is so cheap and flimsy.

I've tried all kinds of tape and various types of plaster/band aid with varied results but none of which stick for 13.1 miles on a very sweaty day! Vaseline works but stains your shirt. Nothing works as well as these. The outside of the protector has a shiny surface which reduces friction with your running shirt and prevents the protectors from moving. The adhesive is sticky enough to keep them in place but comes off pretty easily in the shower after a run. They are well designed with a recess that would, I imagine, accept most sizes of nipple. I have one pierced nipple and I find they don't stick as well because of the shape/size of the piercing. Costing about a pound per run they are rather expensive so I tend to use them only for longer runs and manage with surgical tape on anything under 10km. The price is the only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars.

Absolutely brilliant! As one of those runners who've finished races looking like they've been shot these are great. Stick on easily, work well and just peel off again. Only gripe is I wish they were a bit cheaper. As it is I reserve them for long runs.

I was training for a marathon and was suffering from chaffed nipples. Unfortunately this item just did not stay in place. After 40 mins or so of running and sweating, the item just started to peel away and then comes off. The chaffing is a very big issue for me so I was very thorough placing the guards on, I did not want them coming off during my long run. Three tries and three failures. Hugely disappointed considering the only purpose of this product is to 'stay on'. In that task it failed! They are also quite expensive, for me it has been a waste of money.

Been using these for over a year now. 1 x marathon and 3 x halves later they are now staple part of my distance running kit. Before using these i used to get horrendous chafe and nothing would help. Plasters fell off, gels and lubs don't cut it on anything more than about 10km (I probably sweat more than average). These lasted a full marathon without budging and stop the ol' nip bleed. If you suffer, but them and thank me later.

I do quite a bit of running. When training over a longer distance I can get chafed (especially in the rain). These are a good product and at least I don't have to pay any more than in sports shops ... and in terms of petrol / parking in a large town I am actually saving money!
