Excellent product
A very nice little amp. It is a practice amp, so don't expect it to perform well at high volumes; it only has 2x5" speakers after all. Having said that, the tonal range is excellent, and it sounds like a Vox. Perfect for playing at home to your favourite songs or backing an acoustic guitar or two. I also have a six-string version, which is also very good. It also has a headphone out socket. Bluetooth would be a great addition, but its absence doesn't detract. Recommended.

Awesome little amp, well impressed with it.
*Amp review, I got this amp as my live amp was just too big, heavy and not ideal for my houe rehersals. This is a very good amp without a doubt. The range in tone isn't that massive but still enough to notice the difference. The bass tone is awesome. But, then you crank up the overdrive and boy oh boy this this little amp rocks. I will be using a cleaning sound and I'm impressed. But if you want a sound with the drive, theirs plenty on this. Highly recommended. It's also loud as well and nice a tidy to look at also. * Delivery experience. Delivery was rubbish, delivered to wrong address and found round a neighbours house amongst a pile of rubbish. It was also raining, item is in a cardboard box which was not sealed. The delivery driver didn't even put a note through my door saying it was somewhere. A neighbour told me. If he hadn't told me the item would be outside overnight in the rain. Amazon delivery is the shambles and they should be fully ashamed of their courier service where drivers just throw your item on the floor, leave them in random places and have no respect for items or property. They should be discussed.

Nice Amp at a nice price
Amp arrived promptly, well packaged and without any damage. As I have only just got it, I have not yet played this amp in anger, but have set it up and played through it at home and have to say I am initially impressed. First impressions are how light it is - my previous amp was so large and heavy it was like carrying a filing cabinet around, so this baby feels like a handbag! and at first you question is this ever going to give out any volume at all? It is surprisingly loud, and although I have not yet played it with the other musicians I practice with, I think it will hold its own in a small hall or similar venue. Not sure that it will cope with a larger venue, but it does have a headphone socket which doubles as a line out if you have a PA system, though that will mute the speakers. I am a guitarist rather than bassist, and lead worship in a church setting, so I have this kit just in case we get a glut of guitarists and I need to swap to bass, I have a Squier Jazzmaster with flatwound strings, and the sound from the amp is quite "punchy", it lacks some of the lower resonant frequencies, but what else do you expect from a 5" Speaker (or from my bass for that matter!)? As expected with a VOX, the finish and feel of the amp gives it a classic quality feel. I suspect if I have to play a larger church venue I will need to buy something more powerful, but for lighter acoustic sets and practicing, this amp looks like it will be the "bee's knees"

Loud enough and good sound
I was under no illusions a 10W bass amp is just for home practice, but was still worried it would be woefully under-powered. I was very pleasantly surprised when plugged in. Sure, you're not going to gig with it, but to use alone or even along with another electric guitar at reasonable volume, it more than holds its own. Flexible tone controls - no they're not powerful, but you can put finishing touches on the tone you already should have in your bass nicely enough. Having Drive is a nice feature to add some grit if used sparingly, although much past 3 might be less useful for some. But the channel on clean is its strength. Overall, it just sounds very good, very transparent, is clearly well built (it's a Vox), and it looks like a Vox, i.e. cool. It's solid but light too. An amp should make you smile when you plug it in for the first time and this passed the test easily. For the price, I don't see anything that comes even close.

Lacks tone control.
Decent quality build, very loud, I would fully recommend this apart from one issue... The lack of a mid tone control is an oversight that means you need a separate EQ controller somewhere in your set up. Using a P/J bass you can get a reasonably punchy tone, but a Stingray type bass comes out very mid heavy. Almost a great amp...

Great little Amp!
I use an Ashdown Electric Blue 180 bass amp for normal Ceilidh gigging, but required a much smaller portable amp to enable me to play bass alongside an accordion and acoustic guitar at 'acoustic' ceilidhs at old folks homes in the Highlands. I'd considered much smaller, battery-powered amps, but was concerned at the 'tinny' sound and longevity of the speakers. This Vox Pathfinder, however, delivers perfectly allowing the bass to be heard in this acoustic setting. I consider this to be an excellent 'practice' amplifier which delivers a considerable sound for its 10 watt rating through its pair of 4 ohm 5 watt speakers. As one would expect with Vox, the build quality is very high and it has the usual Vox classic looks. Tremendous value all round and I thoroughly recommend it.

I was pleased with the customer service and received the order on time and in perfect condition. Set up is very easy - plug in, set controls and play. I like the versatility of the settings on this amp. Offers a number of variations on the sound, including a ‘Bright’ setting that enhances the tone. I’m particularly impressed with the mellow sound when playing with nylon strings on the bass. Highly recommend as a reasonably priced practice amp with a few features to get whatever sound you’re into!

VOX PB10 Bass Combo Amplifier ... Greetings All.......Let me begin by saying that I'm a 65 year old Rock & Roll Geezer, a High-end Snob, formerly the Top Gun at Fender and I've owned HUNDREDS of Basses and Bass amps. Good....Now that there's only one of you and just me left reading this review, here's my story. :) I ADORE Vox. I actually bought three of these little guys...Two bass and one of the Special Edition Red GTR amps just cuz it was so darn Gorgeous. I unboxed the PB 10, plugged in a bass and I was shocked. I wasn't shocked in a good way however. This was without any doubt the worst sounding bass amp I'd ever heard. My heart shattered into a million pieces. 2 5" speakers does NOT a 10" speaker make. :( HOWEVER, upon closer examination I discovered that part of the problem was that the prong on the AC cord had punctured a hole through one of the speakers. But that's only one of the problems. Keeping in mind what I said about being a Vox MANIAC, the back on this amplifier...which is by FAR the most beautiful practice amp on the market,...appears to have been left open for only one use; to carry the AC cable. In one way that's cool...cuz how often do we move our practice amps? However, there's a reason why there are absolutely ZERO open back Bass Amps in existence...they sound terrible. :( I immediately sold both amps. I now wish I'd kept the Red one...but that's a story for another review. Solution!!!! I thought about it for awhile and bought another one. I took a piece of GORGEOUS, highly figured wood, cut it to size, left a tiny U-cut for the cable to slide through (permanently) and screwed the wood tightly into the perfectly-placed, "As-if-Vox-Knew-We'd-Do-This", rails on the back of the amp. I plugged it in, fired it up... and it became a Sonic Tiger of Epic Proportions Bottom Line.....If you buy this and think it sounds terrific, sell your bass and take up the Cowbell. Amazon sells them and I also love Amazon. If, however, you're willing to accept that you're voiding the warranty you'll never need by adding a cool back and the AC cable hangs out all the time but is securely kept in place by a cable-tie that costs you a dime, buy this Amazingly Cool amp right now. Don't Walk....RUN to your Comp and spend the BEST $100 you'll ever invest. This is a Wolf in Sheep's Clothing and you Deserve one! The added Insurance you can buy? Forget it. Less than one Star. Bass-ically Yours, Rich Briere
