Great for Mexican Nights
All the classics - simple instructions and beautiful photos. Made the fajitas, the Salsa and the guacamole - fajitas took a bit of time - but they were so good. Loads more to make - many more Mexican nights to have.

Seeing my home through a new set of eyes... and meals
Definitely a small world here, but I live in Southern California, and was fascinated to get a Brit's take on the food I love so much. Well, this book has already been a hit in our household. We've been able to catch a couple of the episodes of the accompanying TV show, and it too is just a pleasure to watch, again, in great part, because this is where I live, and seeing it through someone else's eyes is a pleasure. Back to the book. My wife and I have already made the Cioppino, fried artichokes and rolled up eggplant/aubergine (sorry, don't remember the recipe name). All excellent. And the recipes are simple to follow. Can't wait to make more, and actually go to some of the places Rick went. What a gem you have. Now I also can't wait to go to one of his restaurants in Padstow (didn't know about Rick when my Brit-born wife and I visited Cornwall a couple years ago).

The DVD series is brilliant (also recommend) and so in the book, Rick breaks down the recipe so you may assemble the ingredients or alternatives. The photos are beautiful and present the recipe dishes. I love this book.

Rick’warm personality is on every page with gorgeous photography to match. His recipes are simple and for every taste. If you watch his programmes these books bring back the fun of these documentaries.

The author travels through California and Mexico, writing about street food vendors and restaurants. He gives recipes for many of his favorites with details of the cooks who give the recipes to him. The book is a good read.
