I must be stupid but how do I use the magnetised nail holder? It doesn't make sense.

Place the nail in the slot against the magnet. Tap the nail into the wood gently to just start the nail so it holds in the wood. Now use the large face of the hammer to drive the naIl fully into the wood.

Will the claw part take out small nails is awkward places? TIA

Probably not in all awkward places, but it’s an excellent practical use claw hammer.

Can this hammer be used for centre punching so I know where to drill on my mild steel?

Yes i think it has enough weight.. I find it useful for lots of little jobs at work..the best thing i like about it, is its size.. It will tuck in my work trouser pouch 😊
