Absolutely! I have 3 children ages 7,5 and 2.5. It was bought for the 2 year old and they all love it. I'll be buying more bits to build up the collection of kit.

how many different things and what type of things can you make with this? im presuming there's instructions for the kids?

I bought this for my grandson who lives in Italy, so I haven't seen the different things you can make, however my daughter was pleased at the amount he was able to make and he is 5, 4 when he had it. He and his father are quite DIY minded and it is still going strong. An alround success.
