OXO Good Grips Silicone Shower & Tub Drain Protector

Great product, I honestly cannot give it enough credit. I’ve been using it for the last 3 years and 8 months, and it’s still going strong. It hasn’t developed any smell, hasn’t lost its shape, and the color looks just like new. I keep it in my shower and it works perfectly. It stays in place, doesn’t move around even with water running over it, and no hair gets past it while the water drains smoothly. Cleaning it is super easy; I only give it a quick clean once every few months and that’s more than enough. At first, it did seem a bit expensive compared to the cheaper alternatives on the market, but I’m so glad I went for this one. The quality speaks for itself it’s durable, reliable, and looks like it will last for many more years. Even after all this time, the price hasn’t changed, which says a lot about the consistency of the brand. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. It does its job perfectly, just as described, and has exceeded my expectations in every way. Highly recommended!

works really well on our shower outlet. catches lots of my long hair which would have ended up in the trap and was a mucky old job to clear out. Much better!

Fits perfectly over my pop-up bathtub drain and doesn’t move around or float. Easy to clean and catches almost all of my hair.

This looks as though it should work, but in fact a bath doesn't drain fully with it in place as the holes are not at the bottom of the dome. It also slows the flow through the drain and this means that debris settles on the bottom of the bath rather than getting caught on the dome. I watched it carefully whilst the bath ran out today and quite a lot of hair drifts through the holes with the water flow. Another reviewer suggested that there should be more, smaller holes and I think that might work better. I previously had the slightly domed metal disk which actually worked very well catching hair and let all the water flow out, faster, but over time the dome shape gets squashed and the shape distorts so that hair can slip under the silicone edge.

This drain cover is a perfect fit for large pop-up plugs. It is so easy to clean, just running your fingers around it takes the hair off. It catches so much hair, it’s going to save my drains. It does slip around a little as it does not have suction on the base of the bath, but it is held in place by the plug. 10/10 would recommend

I love this hair catcher, it’s really easy to remove the hair, always stays in place and is very sturdy. The only gripe I have with it is that the holes get full of black gunk, so you need to wash it quite regularly and it isn’t very easy to clean the holes. It’s a minor gripe though, I’m happy I bought it and would recommend.

I'm astounded at the positive reviews for this thing, it's what made me buy it in the first place. Almost all hair just goes straight through the holes and down the plughole, exactly what it's supposed to prevent. I tested it by taking the pop up plug out, placing a regular cheap strainer directly into the hole and then putting this thing back over the top. After a shower there was hardly anything caught on the main bobble, maybe 5 hairs or so. Removing it showed a absolute monster hairball trapped by the 2 quid cheapo strainer. Save your money, remove the pop up head and just get a cheap strainer instead. You'll be calling out a plumber to unblock the hair this thing lets through in no time otherwise.

J'étais un peu inquiète au regard de certains commentaires, mais ce produit est génial ! Mes cheveux longs n'avaient de cesse d'obstruer la bonde en relief de la douche. Le bac n'étant pas totalement lisse, je craignais que ce filtre ne tienne pas au fond. Or, si ! Il ne bouge pas (la partie métallique sur le dessus sert de plomb). Certes, l'eau s'évacue un peu plus doucement, mais ce n'est vraiment pas un problème. Merci beaucoup pour cette invention !!!

Tenía mis reticencias con este filtro, pero cuando lo probé, superó mis expectativas, se quedaban todos los pelos alrededor de su base, sin pasar ninguno al desagüe. No se mueve de donde lo colocas inicialmente ya q la chapa de arriba hace de contrapeso y no se mueve (salvo q lo hagas intencionalmente) y No lleva ventosa, eso es lo más curioso, es verdad q filtra el agua más despacio que si no lo tuvieses, pero a mí me compensa por el engorro q supone limpiar el desagüe de pelos. Después de cada uso, se retiran con la mano, se aclara para que no queden restos de jabón y demás para el siguiente uso y listo.
