Used this to spray paint some tired-looking metal railings, and the results were excellent. I went for the Smooth Black finish and it looks clean, even, and professional – almost like a factory finish. What I really like is that you don’t need a separate primer – just clean off any loose rust or flaking paint, give it a quick sand, and you're good to go. It sticks well and dries fairly quickly too. One 400ml can goes further than you think, but for long railings or fences, you’ll need more than one. Just make sure you spray in calm weather – the nozzle gives a nice consistent mist, but wind will waste your paint. It’s proper durable stuff, and after a couple of weeks in the rain and sun, it’s still looking fresh with no signs of peeling. Definitely recommend if you want an easy, no-fuss way to smarten up outdoor metalwork.

Hammerite is good quality paint. easy to use. end job is very good.

The paint flaked off the sump on my classic car, to stop it rusting I just cleaned it up and sprayed this on whilst underneath the car for a temporary fix. I was amazed to see it actually gave a lasting decent finish.

I used this Direct-to-Rust Black Metal Spray Paint on an outdoor external camera, and the finish looks good so far. The application was very easy, and the spray provides a smooth, even coat without much effort. It also dries quite quickly, which is a big plus. For the price, it seems like decent value. The paint looks okay in the interim, but the real test will be how well it holds up over time in outdoor conditions. So far, I’m satisfied, but I’ll need more time to judge its long-term durability.

I purchased a couple of cans to paint a rusty rear axle on my car and this performs really well. The paint flows from the can nice and easily, even when it's a little cold outside and the application process couldn't be simpler, clean any loose bits of with a wire brush and apply the paint and allow to dry and then add a second coat. The finish isn't too glossy, more of a satin finish with a deep black colour which is perfect for a rear axle. I've used this paint before for similar projects and not had any issues with the rust coming back so had no hesitation getting this again.

Its the first time I have used Hammerite in spray form and its good, just don't spray to close or you will get runs!

Got the job done with what I needed doing

i have bought 4 WHITE Hammerite AEROSOLS and i only get to use half the Can before it will not spray anymore. I just received a SMOOTH BLUE AEROSOL, THE PLASTIC STEM THAT COMES OUT OF THE CAN ONTO THE PLASTIC SPRAY HEAD HAD BROKEN SO 755 OF THAT AEROSOL IS IN THE BIN. DO NOT BUY HAMMERITE AEROSOL PRODUCTS UNLESS IT'S THE BLACK AND BLUE HAMMERED. THE HAMMERED 250ML PAINT TINS ARE CRAP, YOU HAVE TO ADD TURPS STRAIGHT AWAY BUT AS WSITH THE THE WHITE AEROSOL THE WHITE PAINT TAKES DAY TO DRY . BY ANOTHER BRAND, TRUST ME ON THAT. HAMMERITE USED TO BE GOOD NOW THEY ARE COMPLETE CRAP AND IT HAS COST ME A FORTUNE TO THROW AWAY CANS OF AEROSOL I WANT AMAZON TO REIMBURSE ME FOR 3 X AEROSOLS IN WHITE AND 1 X AEROSOL IN SMOOTH BLUE. IF NOT WE WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS AGAIN. "WHITE KNIGHT" SEEMS TO THE BEST FOR HAMMERED AND SMOOTH PAINT IN AEROSOLS
