like they've never tasted proper gravy before
My family has been using this gravy browning to make gravy since I was a child in the late 1950s/1960s. You have to make a sort of roux sauce first (but with water not milk), I then add some stock and the gravy browning. People talk about my gravy, like they've never tasted proper gravy before...nothing really compares to it. Sarsons have now bought it, originally I think it was Crosse and Blackwell.

too thin
This product seems to be really difficult to find in the supermarkets at the moment, so it was good to find. However the consistency seems much thinner than I remembered and pours out of the bottle far too quickly. I have to add that it does do the job of browning the gravy though, just be careful when pouring.

Unable to find a liquid gray browning in any of the our large supermarkets but I understand that Asda and Nisa stock this product which is no longer made by Crosse and Blackwell or Burdall's.

For months, I have been researching the SIBO diet as my sister was recently diagnosed with this condition. It has made for a challenging time for everyone, as she joins us for supper frequently. I have a great SIBO diet cookbook, with many pretty good recipes that I make for her.When researching recipes for Thanksgiving, I came across a recipe for a gravy that was gluten-free, as that is also a condition she has. This recipe called for Sarson's Gravy Browning. At the beginning, I though that I had to order from the UK. After more research, I found a US vendor. It came in before Thanksgiving.On Thanksgiving, I made this gravy, for my sister. She loved it! This product made the difference.
