Sublime tea
Absolutely stunning tea, best I've every drank. Initially bought the taster box (with different teas) and this one tastes superb. Real leaves, not "dust", I thought Twinning's tea was good but that that is now a thing of the past.

I love this tea and as a home worker I work ...
I love this tea and as a home worker I work my way through about 8 pints of the stuff a day and get slightly panicky if I find we have run out. I have always drunk a lot of tea but when I discovered delicious loose leaf tea I realised that what I thought was the taste of tea is actually just the taste of tea bag This Vahdam tea has long pieces of tea leaf which takes longer to flavour the tea and you can see how the leaf softens and expands in the tea pot. Because this tea leaf is less compact than the powder type leaves I need 2 very highly heaped tea spoons for a strong pot of tea for two The longer, soft tea leaf pieces are chewy and not unpleasant if they go through the pot into the cup The product photo shows the tea without milk but this breakfast tea is nice with.

It's ok. It's certainly not 'World's finest' as claimed.
This tea is ok. It's not bad and I am sure the company is producing the best produce it can for the money. But to claim it is the world's best is nonsense. Firstly, it is not long leaf in my opinion. The leaves are generally less than 1cm long along with a fair bit of powder and that is from a new unhandled pouch. I have emptied the last contents of an unbranded, no-fanfare pouch of tea that we have had for more than a year, that has been handled so many times, with ample opportunity for the leaves to break if they were going to and most of the leaves are more than 2cm long. Secondly, the flavour is just not there. When I opened the packet I was not hit with that 'chai' smell tea drinkers love. It was a fairly bland aroma. With the quality of packaging (foil laminate etc) that is available today there is no reason why aroma should escape. My 1 year old bag with just 1 gram remaining in it still smells much stronger than this freshly opened tea. But I gave the tea a try anyway as advised at 2g per 200ml of water. After 5 minutes there was very litle taste. After a few tries I managed to get an acceptable brew with 4 grams per 200ml and 8 minutes of brewing. For those who use teabags (that includes me sometimes), this tea is still better than a teabag, even a good quality one, but somehow I just feel we are often tricked with food and drink in the UK. Maybe it's the push for ever cheaper food that has pushed quality down in so many products. Try a loose leaf tea at a home in eastern Europe or Russia and you won't believe how much better it tastes than what we get sold here in Britain these days. Another commenter mentioned 'the smell they remember when their granny made tea'. That encapsulates it neatly. It used to be so easy to get a good cup of tea - Not anymore. Sorry but I am sending this back. On the photo you'll see a standard Yorkshire teabag on the left, this product in the middle and my 'local shop' unbranded tea from Sochi on the right. You can see the difference in leaf length. You can also see the extra volume of the leaves after brewing at the top of picture.

A good everyday tea
This was my first pack of Vahdam tea, and on the strength (sic) of this, I shall definitely be buying some more. It's a quite large-leaf blend, so if you like your tea relatively strong, you'll have to leave it to steep for perhaps rather longer than you might have anticipated. This describes itself as an 'Original English Breakfast Tea' - if that is the case, then it is likely that the EBTs I've sampled over the years are not the same. My experience of EBT is that it tends to have a very 'clean' edge to it, which makes it good for that first, refreshing infusion of the new day. This (the Vahdam blend) seems to have a softer, richer, more malty flavour, which may imply greater reliance on Darjeeling. It is not the same as those EBTs of yore, but none the worse for it.

Such a great way to start the day
After so many years of drifting into the convenience of tea-bags, lockdown provided the perfect opportunity to get back to basics and start investing the time and effort to make a proper cuppa. I tried a few loose tea providers on Amazon, which were mostly good but for me Vahdam teas are my favourite. The English breakfast tea provides a perfect strong and full flavoured cuppa. I brew for around 4-5 minutes but unlike a Darjeeling (which Vahdam also supply) can tolerate longer without going bitter. Such high quality tea is, per cup made is possibly more expensive than my old tea-bags. However, unlike before, I never waste a cup these days- and no longer do I find cold half drunk mugs around the place. So I think it all balances out. Lockdown is coming to an end, I feel, but I shall be continuing with my Vahdam teas.

Ridiculously expensive and flavourless
I purchased Vadham English Breakfast Tea Leaves as a treat for Christmas as a change from my usual Yorkshire Gold loose leaf tea. Given the price I was expecting to be blown away. I was unbelievably disappointed. The tea is flavourless and nowhere near the quality Yorkshire Gold tea despite costing 4 times the price. I tried everything to try and improve the flavour like increasing the amount of leaves and brewing time. The only good thing about the Vahdam is the fancy packaging but since the tea doesn't deliver it makes it pointless.

Proper, good quality English Breakfast tea - excellent value
I like this ... a lot. I drink tea habitually, made in a ForLife tea pot and drunk black. I can't stand this namby, pamby Early Grey garbage which tastes like a perfume shop. I want something malty, with a bit of body. This tea gives me that, a classic English Breakfast tea. Good size leaves with a good, solid flavour which develops as I drink through the pot. If you like 'proper' tea, this is tea you will like.

I am not kidding, this is the highest quality tea I have ever found. It is priced so well, too! I bought the English Breakfast Black tea and it arrived yesterday. I opened up the elegantly packaged vacuum seal bag and could see the tea leaves are fresh, uniform in appearance, and of a very high quality. Nice fresh aroma, too. I made a pot and did not have time to drink it because I was heading out to dinner. The tea was left it sitting out on the counter steeping for 5 hours. When I got home, I put the tea in the refrigerator. This morning, I went to drink it cold and was concerned that because I did not follow the proper directions for steeping the tea, it might taste bitter. Not the case at all... I could not believe how smooth the taste was! Even with me not following proper steeping technique, the tea tasted so smooth and delicious! I made a cup of it hot, using the tea leaves I had previously used ( out of curiosity to see how it would turn out) and it was delicious as well! Believe the reviews! This tea is of superior quality and taste and there is no bitterness whatsoever! I have paid a lot more for teas that aren't even in the same league as this tea. This is an exceptional value! I was so thrilled with this tea, that I just purchased the Vahdam green tea, and am excited to try that.
