Using the 3.5mm jack for Audio should it also enable the Mic to work or does it just support sound eg: good for music, but no good for calls?

Hi there. The Belkin 3.5 mm Audio + Charge Rockstar F8J212 will only let you listen to music while charging the phone simultaneously. It doesn't have an audio input feature.

Does this allow for mic input? I have a lav mic input which is plan to use with a power bank charger, which is an input?

No, it doesn't. I tried to connect a Zoom I q 7 mic to my iPhone and it didn't work. £15 adapters worked but their plug was too thick to pass through my waterproof case. I know they work because I tried them on an iPhone without case (they won't work if you have a case as their plug won't pass through it even if it's a normal case)
