I can't figure out how to attach the sockets to the ratchet?

Look and you will find that there is an adaptor with a square at one end that fits the sockets and a hexagon at the other that fits into the ratchet. Hope this helps

How thick is the rachet head?

This set is smaller than I thought and the head is around 8mm thick but well made and seems robust. I’ve used regularly for last year and no problems

What length is the ratchet handle?

I'll post a photo of it but the ratchet is just under 9cm. It really is the most useful and well made bit of kit I've bought in a while. I borrowed one to start with then used the Amazon app to find me one from its bar code. Love it!

I can't figure out how to release the universal bit holder from the ratchet?

They just pull apart. To release the bits from the universal bit holder you have to pull back the knurled collar.
