Nice
I recently purchased the Russell Hobbs steel electric kettle and I am absolutely thrilled with it! From the moment I unboxed it, the sleek stainless steel design & good size added a touch of elegance to my kitchen. It feels sturdy and well-made, and the modern finish is both stylish and easy to keep clean. Performance-wise, it is outstanding. The kettle boils water remarkably quickly and quietly, which is perfect for my busy mornings. The handle is comfortable and well balanced, making it easy to pour without any spills. I also appreciate the clear water level indicator and the automatic shut-off feature, which provides peace of mind. Overall, this is a top-quality kettle that delivers exactly what it promises. I would highly recommend the Russell Hobbs steel electric kettle to anyone looking for a reliable, efficient, and attractive addition to their kitchen. Five stars

This is my 3rd Kettle now !
I have always had Russell Hobbs kettles as did my parents before me, but we usually bought the "traditional" shape ones. This is now my 3rd kettle of this particular model and they seem to be lasting 4 years each ! Firstly they are a good kettle, and virtually noiseless for about 8-9 months, then the noise increases, so like a good customer I bought their official 'Multi Purpose Descaler' which isn't cheap, and that cures the problem for 2 months if you are lucky, then you need to repeat the process and you only get 5 doses in each bottle, I bought 3 bottles - so basically one it starts getting noisy there is no cure, so don't waste your money on the descaler, I suppose how long the noiseless last depends on your water hardness softness too, out water is very, very slightly limey, you really don't get any limescale build up inside the kettle though as such. Regarding the lid sticking by other reviewers. this has personally never happened to us. Also the 'plastic' taste in the water, once gain we have never found that, and my only thought is that are people filling the kettle to max, boiling it, throwing the water out and repeating the operation - as stated in the instructions ? Wouldn't be the first time people haven't read the instructions, and that includes me sometimes by the way. Now for my BIG grumble and one that Russell Hobbs SHOULD address that is the on/off switch. It seems these are designed to fail, every 4 years in our case, as that has happened to both out last 2 kettles, and I feel sure it will happen to this new one too. in 4 years time I might add that the traditional Russell Hobbs kettles lasted at least 15 years, and IF you were unlucky you might need to replace the element, I and I have replaced at least 500 on the old style ones (Saturday Job), but that that was it, people loved those kettles. Right, back to my point, the on/off tab that you press down eventually fails and snaps off... why ? because it is just plastic and I suspect the heat from the bottom of the kettle also makes it fail and snap. It is absolutely impossible to repair, because it snaps of at the furthermost point, you just can't get into it and repair it safely, I have worked in electrical/electronics virtually all my life, along with a period in design so I have a lot more insight/experience into these sort of problems. This design or material choice (why not make the stem out of metal, then attach the plastic bit on the end of the stem ?) is making people throw away a perfectly usable kettle, everting else was perfectly fine on the two I binned. We are supposed to making everything sustainable and NOT throw away perfectly good electrical goods for a simple fix... Russell Hobbs please listen ! I nearly gave this 3 stars, but when it is working it is fine, the noise is a problem after a while but I can live with that, but the switch snapping off is just criminal really though, look how many customers have reported this. The big question is when (... not if) this switch fails again, will I buy another Russell Hobbs question, well no unless they address the issue. I personally have supported Russel Hobbs for 50 years now, and as I say my parents did too, but is it now time to call it a day ? We shall see in 4 years time... over to you Russell Hobbs.

Boils quickly and quietly and looks great
Nice looking kettle which pours well. Really quiet and quick boiling as advertised. Worth the price with next day delivery. Blue light around bottom of kettle which goes out once boiled looks very stylish.

Excellent Low‑Noise Kettle fast boil would recommend
This kettle is excellent. I find very quiet for a 3kW model, boils quickly, and it feels really responsive. I removed the internal plastic single‑cup measure as I don’t think it’s necessary, but everything else has been spot on. delivery as promised and a great kettle looks good, good value and I would recommend. Early days but Easy 5 stars so far .

Quick boil but noisier than previous ones
Have had 2 of these before. Last about 3 years and then start to leak. Like them though because they are usually fast boil and quiet. For some reason this one does not seem to be as good quality as the others. The sticker left a mark that cannot remove, the filter keeps popping out and very fiddly to replace and it seems noisier than previous ones, though still rapid boil. Overall it’s a good kettle for the price, but am disappointed that the quality has diminished.

Great kettle! — we bought it after reading lots of reviews!
We had two kettles go within weeks of each other. The second was a used kettle we had from another previous home. This new Russell Hobbs kettle is much lighter, quieter, faster to boil than the previous two, so very happy with it. The build is a little lighter than the previous 2 which, between them, gave us decades of service! So we will reserve any long term recommendation until we have seen how long it lasts. It does get 5 stars because we are very happy with it as it is!

Quiet; Beautiful blue light when on; handy red steps inside for accurate easy measuring single cup
This is a gorgeous kettle with useful features. If you like to boil one, two or three cups only, there are easy to see red plastic flags/steps inside the kettle, making it very easy to fill to those amounts. There is a window to see inside as well, but the markers are below that so even more accurate, especially useful if you are determined to boil just one cup and no more. A very attractive blue light comes on circling the base of the kettle when it’s boiling, great if you like to keep lighting low, and just reassuring to visibly see that the kettle is on if you can’t hear it. It is extremely quiet. With my previous loud kettle (different brand) I could hear it throughout the house when it was boiling, rattling away, churning, so I would always know when it had stopped boiling, no matter what room I was in. With this kettle, I have to stay in the kitchen because it is so fast, and so quiet, it’s hard to hear if it is boiling, and certainly can’t hear this one boiling or stop boiling from another room. An excellent kettle with great features for a reasonable price. I returned another brand, at twice the price, that had half the features and was loud. This is the one to buy. --Update- lid fail - all was well until two months ago when the wee spring inside the lid that lets the handle button pop the lid open broke. Didn't know what the problem was - and then found part of this little wire in the kettle and wondered what the heck is that? Turns out it's the lid spring. Because of one tiny cheap part for which it seems replacements are not available, had to reoder the kettle. After not using it for two weeks, the new one, two months old, failed. Like just quit. Fortunately this was covered and received a new one. Maybe the electrical fail was just a fluke. But that aside it's hard to believe such a tiny part could scupper the whole unit. It's still a great, fast quiet kettle, but if you get it, watch out for that sping - perhaps check it from time to time ? not sure what the solution actually is, and yes still recommend it but have gone from 5 to 4 stars as no way it seems to replace this part.
