Bought this shampoo again as I used it a few years back when I had short hair- and wanted to grow it out. It worked then and it works now! Over the years and having a thyroid condition, suffering with anxiety and on medication, stress can cause hair to shed and fall out, and more so when you hit a certain age. So i first decided to go with the sister brand Plantyr and that was pretty good, but you get a lot less lather and its more expensive, so I decided to use this again, and although it smells like lynx, it lathers really well, washes really well, doesnt make my head itch, and leaves it smelling nice and clean. Been using it for 5 days now- every day, and im happy. My only advice is to use a good conditioner to soften your hair after using this shampoo, as it is specifically marketed towards men, so a good conditioner is a must! Noticed less shedding already, but it does strip artificial hair colour too, so just be mindful about that if you have coloured hair. Will be purchasing again. This is the second review in 5 years I have made on this product. I just think its a really good shampoo. Try it for yourselves and see.

Must admit, I was sceptical about this product, but decided to give it a go anyway. Having used it for the past five months, I can honestly say I'm well and truly amazed!! Since menopause, my hair had gone really thin, but this shampoo has definitely restored much of the lost hair and I can visibly see the new growth around my hairline and where my part is. So much so, that I think in another five months or so, I'm expecting my hair to actually feel fuller once the new hair has more length. I shall certainly continue using this shampoo from now on, just to maintain what I have.

Item arrived a day late. The shampoo is good and leaves my husbands hair in good condition but it doesn't stop it itching.

I used this product every other day. I exfoliating my scalp WHILST it was on my hair. The product was kept on for 5 mins each time. What I found: (ref photos attached- wet hair!) My hair became DRY however I started using a posh spa style conditioner and this immediately fixed that issue. My scalp was irritated however it's GOING TO BE because hair is trying to grow out of your skin where is doesnt normally! So persevere, it DOES pass. The new hair that grew was THICKER than my previous "baby hair" as you can see from comparison "A". "B" shows that the hair growing on the sides was surfacing from a wider area which was also great. Note- MAKE AURE YOU'RE EXFOLIATING IN THOSE AREAS EACH TIME TOO Ref "C" shows the natural volume gained, even whilst hair is wet- my hair looked so awful and thin when wet before, now it looks thick and lovely. And "D" shows the amount of new hairs growing, even only at 3 months mark. I do recommend it. The irritation does get annoying but your scalp is going to give you spots, ingrown hairs, and itching BECAUSE it is working. If you find that you're getting the irritation over your neck shoulders and face too, then stop using. If it's just your scalp take it as a good sign. I hope this helps you.

I spent a few years very stressed from my job and noticed that the hair around my corners and temples had started to recede slightly. Having got my stress under control I have noticed some small hair regrowth in the areas. I dont know if it is a coincidence but since i started using this shampoo i have noticed even more regrowth. I cant really comment on this products effectiveness in male pattern baldness but i do know that MPB runs on one side of my family so i will be using this product probably for the rest of my life just in case! The reason i gave it 5 stars is that, regardless of its affects on hairloss (which despite some skepticism around this product i believe that it probably does make a difference to most people), it is actually the best shampoo i've ever used! my hair feels really soft and thick, i have quite fine hair and it seems to have given it a lot more volume. It smells quite nice as well and just generally feels great! Overall this is a great product and certainly worth a punt as it is fairly cheap, i have recommended it to my dad who has started to thin on top and will be interested to see if he notices any difference

Similar to many others here, the old hairline has been thinning over the last 10 years. Thought I'm not too precious about my look, I've turned to Alpecin to make me feel better that I am at least doing something about it. Now don't go thinking this is a miracle cure because I've given it 5 stars. Its not going to make your hair grow back like you think it will, what it will do however, is at least slow down the hair loss so its not dropping of at the rate it would without. Its a great daily shampoo, it doesn't leave hair feeling too dry or too greasy, nor have I ever suffered dandruff whilst using it so it is genuinely a great daily mens shampoo which tries to keep hold of your hair. Its a bit on the expensive side for what it is, and I cant vouch for whether it works as I'm not prepared to not use it for a year and as a result go bald for an Amazon review (not quite ready for that one just yet), but its a good daily shampoo which makes me feel good which is all that we want!

I noticed some hair thinning a while back and decided to try this. Here's my experience: Pros: Reduced Hair Loss: I've seen less hair in the shower drain (yay!). It's not a miracle grow-back, but it seems to be slowing things down. Thicker Feeling Hair: My hair feels a bit fuller and definitely stronger. Clean and Fresh: It lathers well and leaves my hair clean with a pleasant scent. Cons: Leave-in Time: You need to leave it on your scalp for 2 minutes, which can feel like a long time in the shower. Overall: This shampoo isn't a magic bullet, but it's become a key part of my hair care routine. My hair feels healthier and I'm seeing less shedding. If you're experiencing hair thinning, it's worth a try.

I felt the difference just in about a week! Extremely good value for money, would buy again. They could have sold these for much more expensive if they wanted. Instead they are selling it for almost the same price as a regular shampoo. And I appreciate it very much!

Since I started using this product more than a year ago, I have see noticeable reduction on the amount of hair I lose on a daily basis. I do recommend it!

Exactly as described and smells great. My hair feels really clean afterwards. I'm not sure that it has regrown any hair, but I'm not losing any either. My temple recession seems to have halted.
