I bought the Slick Gorilla hair styling powder for my sons and my husband and they all absolutely love it. It gives their hair great volume and texture without making it look greasy or heavy. The finish is natural and matte, which looks much better than shiny gels or waxes. It is really easy to use, just a small amount shaken onto the roots and worked through with fingers. It holds the style well throughout the day but still allows the hair to move naturally. They also like that it does not leave any sticky residue on their hands. This has definitely become a regular in our house now. Great product, works well on different hair types and keeps their styles looking fresh all day.

I am a child of the 80's. The main hair products available at that time were mousse and gel. Anything with at least an 'extra, extra' hold rating would suffice! Gel came in a variety of colours which had no effect on your hair whatsoever, and I would put about as much as i could onto my head to ensure a nice thick covering to maintain the 'wet look' all day. You could have dropped a bowling ball onto my head and it would of cracked in two. Then came wax, and hair didnt have to look wet all day. Suddenly the idea of 'less is more' became popular, a a standard tin would last months instead of days. In more recent years we have been treated to 'putty, mud and paste'. Thus far I have refrained from applying mud to my hair, but I do like to keep abreast of new and innovative hair products, while I still have hair to style. I saw a couple of videos of people applying texturizing powder and being the modern man I had to try it for myself. The bottle arrived and the first thing I noticed was how much space was left in the container. Yes, the description says its 20 grams but the bottle could probably hold 50. I liberally dusted my hand with the powder and rubbed it into my palms as instructed. I was hoping for something that wouldn't leave my hands as sticky as wax did, but the powder quickly turns into a paste which you then run through your hair and style as normal. Once in however, it doesnt leave your hair feeling sticky. My hair is quite thick so I am always looking for something that gives it a bit more style rather than looking like a solid mass on my head. The product itself works quite well and I was able to style some definition into my fringe, and was able to rework throughout the day. It doesn't provide a firm hold so the wind is its natural enemy but again, a quick ruffle with my fingers and it returned to formation. My main gripe would be the amount you get. Assuming you use 1 gram per use (more if you want more definition), the bottle will last less than 3 weeks. I have tubs of wax that are still half full after several months. So it comes down to weather or not the extra cost is offset by superior styling. Personally I did like the product, but I dont think I can justify the cost to sit in an office all day with fabulously styled hair. I may save it, and break it out for special occasions.

Fairly affordable, light weight hair powder that adds significant texture and styling properties to hair, especially naturally straight or flat hair. Using a lot of the powder can cause it to accumulate and shed a little bit when moving or scratching hair, but I found this very minor.

Best hairstyling product I've used. I may have only been on this planet for 22 years however I've always struggled with my hair being rather flat hwoever this works perfectly - enough in a bottle for it to not dissappear and lasts around 48 hours until I wash my hair again. I apply when it's ever so slightly wet so it dries in the required style and it keeps that. It may fall out during the day (the hairstyle that you've sculpted) but one quick scruff in the mirror and it's good again.

So, been using this for a few months now and thought I should give a full review of the product from start to finish. In terms of using it, it easy enough sprinkle into the hair and style using your fingers. However it's a very fine powder (talc like) so you will look like you have bad dandruff! Thankfully it does wipe off your clothes easy enough. Pros: great styling product, doesn't feel heavy in the hair, doesn't actually look like you have product in and it gives a really good hold. If your hair does need redoing later in the day, again the product gives you a decent hold after sorting it with your fingers. Cons: weird one, one that was actually pointed out by my hairdresser. It's doesn't wash out very well, my hair dresser shampooed my hair and there was no lather! Washed it again and there was lather. I done the same at home, if you have this in your hair and put shampoo in, it doesn't lather! Some weird chemical reaction? So it just doesn't 'feel' clean until you wash it again and get a lather. So a big con, it cost 11 quid a bottle and I'm going through shampoo like a salon.

My son and I have been using this powder for a long time now on and off. It lasts well as you don't need a lot per application. It gives a nice matt textured look and holds well. We both have fine hair and it works a treat. Definitely recommend.

Excellent: 1) the volume is smaller than I expected, but I haven't ran out of it after two months use 2) the product works as described, easy to apply and style your hair with it 3) it's not as sticky and smelly as hair gel and hair wax 4) the downside of this product is the time for shipment. It takes about two weeks to ship it to Canada (maybe because it was from UK?)
