Grey Fibreglass Fly Screen Mesh 1.2m Wide Sold by the Metre

I bought a fly screen for the three main windows of my flat, and it was great but for one thing- in the July evenings no moths, etc can get in, but tiny midges and small moths CAN! This is a very tough mesh and the holes are much much smaller than standard mesh. The compromise is a naturally blurrier view and slightly less airflow...but NO flies are getting through it unless they have knives...

In summer we like our windows open at night. With some blue tack we put this up inside the window frame. You hardly notice it there but it keeps all the insects out. Of course during the day it does the same job for flies. Sometimes we roll it up, which it does easily and it comes down again without creases or folds. We are very happy with it and it was a cheap way to solve a most annoying issue.

The netting is good quality and is excellent at keeping even tiny insects outside. Midges can get through normal netting but this stops them. The black colour and fine mesh do restrict light entry and the view through the net appears blurred but these are not important issues to me. The strong construction means there is little danger of accidentally tearing it when fitting or in use. One issue of concern is that the netting was sent folded (to save on postage probably) which does leave creases in the net and these are very visible after fitting. It is doubtful that these creases will fade with time. It would be preferable if the netting was white (less obtrusive) and sent in a roll so as to eliminate the creasing.

First time I have purchased this product from Amazon it much better quality than I have previously bought from local stores. I have only just started replacing the old insect on my windows with the windows with the Biocare one. Lucky the adhesive tape from the previous insect mesh was still ok because there wasn't any included in the package I received don't know if this was an error and just missed out or if they don't supply it? It wouldn't stop me purchasing this product again but I would try to establish next time if it should come with the fixings tape?

Very good quality fly mesh. No complaints at all! Like some other clever soul in this review group (thank you for the idea!) I used UPVC trunking (obtained at Screwfix) to make a frame for this for our window. I have a high suspicion that my ‘frame’ will fall apart long before the mesh will! 5 stars!!!

The mesh arrived earlier than expected, which was appreciated, and the mesh itself appears to be of good quality. I have given 3 stars because there are some important details missing from the listing. While the seller clearly states that no fixings are included, the listing does not explain which fixing methods are actually suitable for this particular mesh. As a result, I ended up spending additional money on hook-and-loop tape that did not work with the mesh. Buyers would benefit from clearer guidance on the most appropriate fixing method for DIY installation. I also found that the leading edge of the mesh was cut unevenly, which meant I had to trim it straight before use. This was not a major issue, but it added extra work to the installation. Overall, the mesh appears to be good quality, but the listing could provide more practical installation information to help customers avoid unnecessary expense and frustration.
