Yes, this feature works very well in a one to one situation, have not tried it for conference calling as that is not what it is intended for. Very useful if you are hard of hearing or have hearing aids or just want both hand free to write or look up information.

Yes you do need to subscribe to caller ID in order for the call minding to work but it's well worth it to get free from nuisance calls.

Is it compatible with bt freestyle

This is a corded phone that works if you have a power failure to your home. There is no reason why it should not work on the same line as BT Freestyle, I have it working on an older version of BT wireless phone. However it does NOT connect to the wireless phone circuit and requires direct connection to a BT wall outlet to work. Hope this helps.
