Love that I can lock my 09 silverado 1500 tailgate. Slightly smaller than OEM. Lock also sticks sometimes.

Lock Tumbler Does Not Engage
Mechanism fits into place to match OEM aesthetic, but the lock tumbler does not engage.

Perfect fit for 2011 Silverado LS
My Silverado came with a non-locking tailgate, which didn't matter much until I recently put a topper on it. Needing a way to lock the tailgate led me to this product. I received it in the mail a couple of days ago and proceeded to install it. I thought seriously about videoing the procedure, but it turned out to be so simple that I didn't figure anyone would need to watch it; so I just installed it without doing a video. Really, it is a simple install and you should have zero issues with it. Three bolts have to be removed and put back in. And it works perfectly! A nice surprise is that it feels pretty sturdy. The keys are satisfyingly large and the mechanism operates as well as the factory mechanism...with the added benefit of a lock. If you are thinking about getting this but you aren't sure you can install it, go for it...you won't be sorry. In fact, you will wish you had done it sooner.
