I don’t often leave reviews and this unit would’ve gotten a very bad one if I didn’t give it a chance. When I purchased this unit it struggled and bored tunnels and just didn’t work unless I had a guy standing back there with a shovel. For $89 I bought a second vibrator and secured to the back close to the auger and spinner. That cheap add on has made this thing a dogg. No more issues whatsoever and even seems to help with Jams. I will be buying more units and recommend everyone does too

Item arrived a few days later than initially proposed. Product arrived and the shipper was great. Product was in great condition, checked every bolt and part to make sure it was ready for work and it was. Prepped my truck and a friend helped me lift it into my bed which was surprisingly easy and neither of us are body builders. Thankfully we had a storm to test it out the very next day. Once we had the auger and spinner speed set for how much we wanted to spread and how wide we worked for about 14 hrs straight without a single hiccup. The pause button is great! The installation was a breeze and couldn't be happier with the upgrade. Looking forward to many seasons of use! 10/10 Would buy another if we ever need one for a short bed pickup!

What a well made piece of equipment . We maintain several facilities in PA and NJ, and after spending north of 5K in the last month on salt spreading we decided to buy our own. Our mechanic mounted the unit and ran all the wiring and accessories. we were missing the cab controller and wrote to amazon thinking we could get the small part in a few days. Instead I received a link to return the ENTIRE unit for a missing part the size of a few stacked cell phones. Our mechanic has a half a day in installation, and the unit is half the size of a pickup truck and north of 300 pounds. If you purchase one of these I think you will be impressed, just be sure all the parts are there before the common carrier's truck leaves the loading dock. (and that's impossible to do). Come on Amazon, you can deliver a package the same day but you can't wrap your head around a logistical nightmare??? I'm sure Saltdogg will work with you. Don't destroy a great product in the name of common sense! Dan Marrazzo

Works great! My driveway is 1,400 for long so a sander is a must for me. I use a 50/50 sand/salt mix that is totally dry. I have to leave the vibe on the entire time while sanding or it just won’t come out right. Set up was super easy and quick. For the price this is a great buy. I have the oger set at 9 and the spinner at 2 for best results for what I’m doing.

I bought this sander unsure if it was going to fit in my Ram 1500 with the short bed (5'6)- according to the description, it needed at least a 6' bed. A friend of mine has a SaltDogg and said he had it in a shot bed truck before so I decided to try it. This fit quite nicely in the short bed of the 1500. I already had Airlift 1000's in the truck for towing my camper, which were absolutely necessary with the sander and any salt load. If I loaded 1/2 yard, it was at the trucks's limit; I never hit bumpstops because of the air suspension but you could tell it didn't want any more weight. The sander is approx 400# and the salt I use is GreenMelt, which is about 1000-1100# for a half yard. After I figured out that I had to adjust the gate to allow salt to pass through, it worked really good and I have no complaints as far as function. It was easy to wire with a disconnect at the battery for the off-season. I have two issues with this sander. My biggest gripe is passing wires with a quick connect that's 1/1/4" thick through the firewall is a PITA trying to insulate to keep the engine bay noise out. The second issue is the sander hopper is about 8" too short for the loader buckets to just be able to dump the salt. I have to shovel salt from the end of the bucket into the hopper or it ends up in the truck bed or on the ground. I'll have to fab some wings for the hopper for next season. The first two photos are the sander in my 2016 Ram 1500. The last photo is the sander in my 2019 Ram 2500. I upgraded for the better ride while loaded and decided I was doing enough work to justify a 2500.

WORKS AWESOME FOR SPREADING FERTILIZER! HARDLY NEED VIBRATOR WHEN SPREADING FERTILIZER, BUT YOU WILL NEED IT USING DRYING AGENTS AND INSECTICIDES.

I've only used this sander once so far, it worked alright but I was using a decently wet mixture of sand and salt. I think it would work perfect with straight salt, although I will try a fresh batch of sand/salt first, it's a lot cheaper. Paris Supply was a pleasure to work with, and the sander came within 3 or 4 business days, which was before their estimated delivery date.
