Grammaire Progressive Du Francais: Niveau Debutant (French Edition)

Amazing book and it's all in French, which means, you'll learn!

As the first reviewer has noted, "Grammaire Progressive du Francais: Niveau Debutant"--the most elementary of three graded books in a series--is written entirely in French and is exercise oriented. At the Alliance Francaise in Atlanta, where I study French, teachers use this series' exercises to supplement the better-rounded Echo graded textbooks. Even now, as a student at the intermediate-advanced level, I find the "Niveau Debutant" a useful refresher for certain grammatical points, and I would suggest that committed students of French keep on hand this volume as well as its intermediate and advanced level counterparts. "Niveau Debutant" is divided into 60 chapters and eight sections. It begins, as virtually all French grammar books do, with means of identifying oneself and the basic use of adjectives, nouns, pronouns, and key verbs used in the present tense. Sections three, four, and five introduce the use of particles, numbers and time, and phrases to describe common activities. With sections six, seven, and eight, the book concludes with new verb tenses, including the futur, passe compose, and imparfait, as well as greater complexities regarding pronouns. Additional verb tenses, including the subjonctif, conditionnel, other compound tenses, and the literary passe simple are covered only in more advanced volumes of this series.

J'adore ce livre!! Impeccable!! This is so exceptionally well designed, written, and illustrated that the concepts and meanings are conveyed with laser like clarity without any use of English translation at all! Really remarkable! I also love the accompanying CD which has conversations of daily French life and a well performed musical section in a variety of genres. All is done with useful grammatical themes, but in a light and very entertaining manner! Furthermore French text is provided for the conversations and song lyrics, so if your ear doesn't get all of it initially, you can compare the written French with what your hear. Since I decided to learn French, I have bought a number of books - pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, stories, etc. This is by far my favorite! Truly a masterpiece!!

Bought the grammar book and the correction book companion to get a grip on French. Was used in conjunction with a French teacher. Fairly helpful and I am sure I will use it on my own to motivate me in improving my French!

I really like this book. Paired with a French tutor I am learning alot. After having learned Spanish with a book/class instruction I find that it starts off a little different but still very effective! I would recommend it to anyone.

great leaning guide .. remember everything is in france . no ingles at all. even the introduction and instructions , but it is pretty basic. Je adore apprendre le francais

これは良い本です。初級者用ですが、すべてフランス語で 書かれているので、語学が初めての人には向いていません。 （中級者はこの上のIntermediaireが良いです) 無駄な説明など無く、例のみで理解できるように作られていて やったことある人なら理解できると思います。 Raymond Murphyの英文法の本に似た感じで、 ただひたすらポイントになっているところを練習する本。 男性名詞と女性名詞の作り方は、知らない語彙もあるので 後でやろうと飛ばすと、しっかり次のユニットで 間違えるように作ってあります。当然じっくりやりました。 何回も繰り返し練習させられるので、段々身に付く感じです。 語彙も、無理なく使う言葉を中心に、難易度を上げずに あちこちに出てくるので、文脈で覚えてしまうほどです。 (2010/10)版と(2002/08)版は基本的に同じです。 新しい版は、挿絵がカラーなのと巻末に会話があり、 その録音をしたCDが付いています。 (CDのエクササイズの答が古いCorrigesには当然載っていません。 でも品切れで待てないので古い版の答を買いましたが、今のところ問題ありません）

CLE publishes French grammar and vocabulary books at four levels (débutant, intermédiare, avancé, perfectionnement). Each unit has two pages: a page of explanation with examples and a page of exercises. I find this series ideal for tutoring students. When I need to work on a student's weak area, I just find the matching lesson and then we do the lesson together for 20-30 minutes. For self-study, this series together with the answer books (corrigées) is fine for disciplined students who are at the level to understand French-only explanation and examples.

Comprado para el 1er curso de frances elemental de la escuela oficial de idiomas. Con el libro de las respuestas te puedes autocorregir y ser autodidacta. Teoria de la gramatica bien resumida con ejercicios para practicar cada uno de los conceptos.

Llegó en buen estado. Facil y a tiempo. Los contenidos del libro son excelentes. Ideal para aprender el idioma.
