vgate OBD2 Scanner iCar2 Bluetooth Diagnostic Tool Support All OBD Protocals for Android Devices

I used this with a couple different Android Apps so far - Torque Lite and Car Scanner ELM OBD2, worked fine with either one. The Car Scanner ELM gave me the option to successfully clear fault code for my vehicle. I didn't have any problems with this unit itself, connected easily with bluetooth to my older Samsung Galaxy Note 2, was able to get many different readings, I am very happy with my purchase. I used it for my Chrysler/Dodge minivans 2003-2005 so far. Left it plugged in for days, no problems so far.

I use an OBD2 scanner to send information to the Torque Pro app on my phone and from there to my navigation screen. That way I can display all kinds of trip and vehicle information in real time. It's great except I kept forgetting to remove the scanner and feared someday it would drain the battery. This product seemed like it would fix that issue thanks to its 'sleep' mode that powers it down after 30 minutes and it does. Now the flaw. The scanner doesn't power up on its own when the vehicle is started again. It requires pressing a small button on the bottom of the unit, a button that's nearly impossible to find by feel. The manufacturer could markedly improve the product by making that button far more obvious (even a little bubble would help) or eliminating it completely. I've fixed the issue (temporarily) with a small dot of silicone glue where the button is so I can actually feel it. So, four stars because the scanner does exactly what it's advertised to do and has all the functions described. One star held back because there's still room for an important improvement.

Reads and resets codes. Many other diagnostic options when used with Torque app. It was initially difficult to pair with my phone but has been flawless since.

But seriously this page is misleading saying it will work with the IOS system! IT WILL NOT DO NOT PUCHASE FOR IPHONE! GET A WIFI MODEL!!!! Amazon if y’all are reading this please fix this for future customers! I have already emailed the manufacture/seller to alert them as well! I’ve attempted to call Amazon to just do a basic swap for the right part, and due to the covid I understand y’all are not taking calls. But how does one accomplish a swap otherwise? Not exactly a user friendly system or I’m just slow lol. I am asking either amazon or the seller to please reach out to me so I can make an exchange for a WIFI MODEL, BLUETOOTH NO GOOD FOR IOS! The unit I received does not allow a bluetooth connection. Box stats wifi but does not say bluetooth. I believe this should be more clearly stated and that the listing should not have bluetooth in it as it does not work. I have an android phone.

Installed it into a 1997 chevy lumina. The instructions tell you how to set up the app in your phone to get it to connect. I am running dashcommand and purchased it for 9.99. it showed as code for the mass air flow sensor problem within the first few minutes that i have been trying to solve for some time. Very valuable product for anyone with an older car. I have 280,000 miles on it and its a daily driver. The program shows me coolant temperature and not a needle like on the dash. the program is customize-able with different gauges and parameters. I will be installing one soon in my 96 ford ranger which has 560,000 miles on it to help in monitoring the engine in it.

This device works just as well as every other inexpensive OBDII device I've tried, connects to my phone and is recognized by every app I've tried. I purchased it because of the auto sleep function, which is a nice feature, but introduces a big flaw. Once the device powers down (after I turn off the vehicle) it must be manually powered on again when I start my car. As a result, I almost never use it. If the device would power on automatically when the vehicle starts, it would be perfect.

Let me first say that the product works as advertised. I will continue to use it. My dislike with the unit is that it requires me to physically press the ON button each time I start my car, if I want to have real-time information shown on my cell phone app. I would prefer that the unit automatically turn on with the car. Because of the location of the OBD2 socket, I must bend down before getting into the car and press the ON button on the unit. For this reason, I did not award 5 stars. Other than that, there are certain steps that initially are required in order for the unit to function correctly. Firstly, the unit must be plugged into the OBD2 socket and turned on. , Next, the cell phone must be paired with the unit and you should understand how to do this with your phone. Further, an app such as Torq or MyGreenVolt (if you own a Volt) needs to be down loaded to your phone and then paired to the unit. Then you are good to go. I would recommend that you read the iCar website for more information.

Works with Forscan !!! For a fraction of the price of others. A little slow over Bluetooth. But that's normal. Works great highly recommend!

Utilissima a chi serve

Funktioniert gut mit der Car scanner Pro App für unter 5 Euro! Sowohl in der Bluetooth Version, als auch mit der Wlan Version, welche ich fälschlicher Weise bestellt hatte. Messwerte, Fehlercodes, Abschalten von Start Stop, Regeneration des Partikelfilters leider nur im Stand, was mir völlig reicht. Alle 10x muß ich den Adapter einmal herausziehen oder den Knopf drücken, dann geht die Verbindung über Bluetooth sogar parallel zum Telefonieren übers Radio. v2.1 wird unterstützt. Skoda Octavia 1.6 TDI UND 2.0 TDI.
