Pleasant surprise
This is not my first rodeo with the bear claw pencils. My first experience was simile out of curiosity. They looked “quirky” enough to attract my attention. These pencils are a game-changer. They are easy to use because if the three-point contact, and diameter. The all-round quality is superb. The eraser is sturdy and effective, not leaving significant residue on the page. The pencils provide perfect grip and balance, and are particularly helpful for young children who are learning to write. The grip challenges them to develop a firmness, whilst encouraging proper placement of their fingers. They really help with fine motor skills development as well. They may prove helpful for individuals with challenges like carpel tunnel syndrome, or other challenges affecting their grip.

My favorite pencil of all time! Hands down
My favorite pencil of all time. Why? So, I've always loved to draw, but my handwriting skills and long term stamina always decrease as I go. The unique shape of the pencil really eases the grip issue I have with regular, thin pencils. This just fits in your hand in such a weighty and satisfying way. The graphite is really smooth, and gives you a great point and a large level of greys that you'd want in a pencil. I appreciate the way it can get super sharp of a point for maximum control, but at the same time, keep that point for a while. It's obviously not "unlimited" sharpness, but for a pencil to stay this comfortable and sharp and durable and flexible at this price point, is hard to beat. I'm going to definitely try out their other products.

Impressive!
I do a lot of paintings on my walls and ceilings and have been searching for the right pencil that leaves a solid line that is easily and completely erasable. These are perfect! Thank you!

Nice for kids learning to write
I wanted to love these, for they are the perfect size and sharpen well in the pencil sharpener with no broken lead issues. But the metal holding the erasers eventually give up their hold and become a chocking hazard as they fall off. Even the plier squeeze trick doesn't help enough. The eraser could be a little softer to be perfect, but better than the other brand of big chunky pencils we've used. Some have such terrible erasers and these are much better than those. I like that they encourage a proper hold of the pencil without having to add a pencil grip. The lead is soft enough to make a nice dark impression on the page without being too thick of a line to feel like pre-school. I like them and happy to have purchased them, though I wish for the price they were a little better.

Great For Little Hands
My two boys (6&7) use these pencils for their handwriting practice. We like that they are shorter, thick and triangular shaped to help with gripping. We also like the quality of the wood used and also the way the graphite writes, it’s very smooth and also very dark without having to apply so much pressure. They are a must have for beginner writers.

Great for Visually Impaired
I'm a vision teacher and these pencils are great for VI students. I ordered them for a 5 year old recently. When he used them for the first time, he was amazed that he could see what he was writing. My 90 year old mom loves them for the same reason!

Great pencils.
Great pencils. Used for filling in crosswords that are printed on "less than expensive" paper.

We got these for our 5yo who was struggling with drawing and writing (was late to choose a hand). The triangular shape and soft lead makes these a great choice for learners! They are just really nice pencils and I frequently grab them to make quick notes. I have some arthritis in my hands and they're actually much easier for me to write with when I have joint pain also! Only issue is we needed to get a larger barrel pencil sharpener (obviously?) and even then they don't quite fit without some convincing and tend to leave some sharp burrs around the edges that need to be picked or scraped off. Overall, I think these are a great product.

Great pack of pencils for little ones still developing their fine motor skills. The body is more like a soft triangle so very easy to grip. My son just started grade one and he loves these. I will definitely be picking up more when we run out. The only draw back in the don’t fit a generic circular pencil sharpener easily. It takes more focus to sharpen them is all

We've been using these pencils for almost two years. I got them for my son when he was three to help him with pencil grip. The larger triangular shaped pencil is easier for him to grip while he's learning. It also has a darker lead which is nice until he is strong enough to push harder on a regular pencil to leave a dark enough line. The eraser is just average. All in all, it's a great pencil for kids learning to print.

Larger pencil, easy for my little to grip. Much better than standard pencils. Nice big eraser too. Hard to break, we love them. Will buy again.
