This is a very easy to use, straightforward tester. It works great, particularly for moisture levels. Also, the first one I received didn't work, but I contacted the company directly and they sent a replacement out immediately. No issue with the second one. The company was very responsive and courteous.

This is NOT a paid or sponsored review (although I wouldn’t mind testing products for honest reviews). I bought this with my own money to try and give my own opinion. I bought this not expecting much, but I figured why not give it a try and see how it performs. Right out of the box it is surprisingly built well enough that I don’t feel like it’s going to break anytime soon although time will tell. It comes in a cheap box from China but it is packaged well to where it will not get banged around in shipping. When I first put this meter to the test I was surprised that the readings are pretty close to what the actual condition of the soil is. The light meter function works well in the sun. I was kind of bummed to see it will not work with my grow lights (it states this in the instructions but I tested anyway). The moisture feature is pretty accurate I first measured bone dry soil and it was accurate so I gradually added water and kept checking and the meter registered exactly what I was seeing. The nutrient function seems to be reading pretty accurate for what I believe to be in the soil but I’m skeptical of this I will have to do further testing on this function and compare with other meters and report back on this one. The PH function works as accurate as the other functions. I started with alkaline soil PH 7 and stuck the probe in and it registered it with no problem. I then started adding PH down (hydroponic ACID) to the water and added it to the soil. The meter registered the PH as acidic PH 3 which is accurate compared to digital PH meter and PH solution. Overall I’m impressed. This is a nice little meter for everyday gardening and to get an idea of how your soil and plants are doing. I wouldn’t use just this meter on prized plants and rely only on this meter but it is definitely worth having on hand. If this company has other products I would be willing to try the other products as well to see how they perform as well as recommend this product to friends.

Anyone with multiple plant families such as tropical, succulent and cactus Needs to have this! Or if your plants get different amounts of sun in different windows. The “moisture” sensor was a game changer for me … a plant in one window may be bone dry, but same plant in different window still has plenty of moisture. No more guessing!!

Does not work at all. Took out of packaging and used the grit paper on the tip as directed. Put into soil and needle did not budge. Tried in a few different areas and nothing. I do not recommend this product.

I agree with many of the other reviews that say the pH function is faulty. I tested brand new soil out of the bag, that the manufacturer states as pH balanced at 6.3 to 6.8, and this sensor gave a reading of nearly 8. The moisture sensor seems to work but I have to question it because all four pots (clustered in same spot) have different readings this morning, including one pot with a low reading of 3 even though 1.5 inches of rain fell yesterday and last night. I've only had it for a few days so I'll keep using it and keeping records on the moisture sensor but I'm convinced the pH sensor is useless. I can't tell if the nutrient sensor is any good yet, but the light meter works very well.

I am so excited about this moisture meter! It seems to be a fantastic value, as it measures four different soil conditions. It even came with a square of the sandpaper that they recommend for maintaining the probe tip. This helps me identify the appropriate sandpaper whenever this bit wears out. I was gifted an amaryllis for Christmas. I have never had success with indoor plants, as their care is not in my wheelhouse. However, I really don't want this gift to die. I read that overwatering an amaryllis will make it rot and die. I don't trust my fingers to know when soil is dry enough to receive some water, and I don't trust myself to give it sufficient water without overwatering. To that end, I purchased this meter to track the various conditions my plant needs. It really is just a click of the switch to adjust to measuring a different soil condition (moisture/humidity of the soil, light brightness, nutrient level, acidity/alkalinity level). As I was getting ready to take a picture tonight, I noticed that the meter reading area is on a swivel with the rest of the meter! What a happy surprise! This means that I don't need to kneel on my creaky old knees to check soil conditions. I fully believe that this meter will help me finally keep a plant alive.
