I suppose I can have the original and this one working?

You can pair as many remotes as you want to the system but you must do them all at the same time. I will say that this remote did not work with my 2003 Honda CRV - it would lock the doors and would open the rear hatch glass but would not unlock the doors - proceed with caution.

It did not work on ours either and I did the program and over and over. I returned it they sent me a new one and it did not work either
