Great with Automation
I’ve been really impressed with the Tapo T100 motion sensor. Setup was quick and straightforward through the Tapo app, and it paired with my hub without any issues. Within a few minutes I had it triggering lights in my kitchen. The automation options are very flexible. I was able to set it so the lights only come on when motion is detected between sunset and sunrise, which is perfect for nighttime trips to the kitchen without having lights turning on during the day. The motion detection itself has been reliable so far. It picks up movement quickly and consistently without lots of false triggers. The sensor is also very small and discreet, so it doesn’t stand out once it’s mounted. Battery life is rated at up to a couple of years, although in a busy room like a kitchen where there’s a lot of movement being detected, I suspect it may need changing sooner. That said, it’s easy to access the battery and replace it when needed. Overall it’s a great little sensor for the price and integrates nicely with the rest of the Tapo ecosystem. If you already use Tapo smart plugs, bulbs or switches, this is an easy way to add some useful automations around the house.

Brilliant. Small. Functional
These are brilliant little things. We now have 2 in our house and are looking at a third They perform great, very accurate and are so small you hardly notice them. I forget they're there until the light turns on! They connect to the app and the rest of my tapo devices with ease and the in app features are so practical and easy to use and set up You can set these up with routines, so that they only activate between certain times of the day and will active your bulbs to whatever % brightness and colour you like. This is great for us, because we have one of our sensors set up to turn the light on 10% for when we get up in the middle of the night to use the loo. Nothing worsenthan being half asleep and turning a light on full brightness! I like how they come with different fitting options. They come with self adhesive pads, which are super strong and are magnetic, we have one on the side of our fridge and you can screw them in place if you feel it's needed Just a shame they're not waterproof, because I would love one in the garden to activate the lights at home in case an intruder came Great price when on offer, very happy with these

Small but mighty
The Tapo Sensor is one of the most multi functional and affordable devices there is. It’s tiny size makes it even better, you can do so much with it. I personally have 2 of them at the minute, one of them when triggered turns on my bathroom light saving me hunting for the switch during the night and the other turns on our kitchen floor light that works with the tapo plug. There’s a little green light on the sensor that lets you know that you triggered the sensor, the battery does last for a whole year and the sensor does pick up motion from quite a distance, i was amazed at how far it picks up. Included is a strong adhesive and some kind of flat piece of metal that you use to open up the back of the sensor to change the battery. Overall this is a great little device. Just a quick note: AN ADDITIONAL DEVICE IS REQUIRED TO UNABLE AUTOMATION

Good quality & value motion sensor
Update 31/01/24: TP-Link have recently made some great software/firmware updates to much of the Tapo product line. Firstly some degree of local automation is now available, when an automation is created in the Tapo app it will be identified whether or not it will continue to function without an internet connection. Even better news for some, Matter compatibility is now available on the H100 Smart Hub allowing most of the sub-devices to be connected to a Matter controller. This function is still in beta however I have found it to be working well through Home Assistant (where Matter is also still in beta). For those HA users who have been using the Tapo HACS integration I strongly recommend switching to Matter as the polling lag experienced by the Tapo HACS integration does not exist using Matter and it also works entirely locally with no need to connect to TP-Link’s servers. As Matter is still rather new buttons and the water leak sensor currently aren’t supported, but I suspect this is only a matter of time. Original review: The Tapo T100 motion sensor is cheaper (at £14) than many others but as you would expect from TP-Link is a quality item. It is significantly smaller than many competitors, easy to setup and adjust via the Tapo app and thanks to a ~868MHz connection to the required Smart Hub (H100) provides decent range and battery life. Range is obviously totally dependant on obstacles and interference so will vary significantly. Whether this motion sensor will work for you will really depend on what you are trying to achieve. Within the Tapo ecosystem automation options are somewhat limited, it is certainly less customisable than other ecosystems. For those using Alexa two operations - motion detected & motion not detected for chosen time period - can be utilised as triggers once the Tapo skill has been installed, which opens up far more possibilities and the capability to control devices across other ecosystems. I tested using this to control some Philips Hue lights and it worked fine, albeit with occasionally a little delay. Perhaps it works more seamlessly with Tapo bulbs which can be setup in the Tapo app without involving Alexa. I did find Alexa routines triggered by this motion sensor stopped working for no reason on more than one occasion requiring them to be deleted and recreated. Also disabling then reenabling routines caused them to break, so not great reliability using Alexa. For those using Home Assistant none of the sensors or buttons that connect to the H100 hub currently work with HA. I don't foresee an integration being developed any time soon as TP-Link does not make the API publicly available and devices that require an internet connection to function are not particularly popular within the HA community. Unlike most systems that utilise a hub/bridge/gateway, any sensors (or buttons) connected to the Smart Hub (H100) will entirely cease to function if the internet connection is lost. There is no good reason for this and in my opinion is a very poor decision by TP-Link, local functionality is an absolute necessity for a reliable smart home. Light switches or security sensors not functioning because of a lost internet connection is a really dumb problem to introduce. The advertised idea of using these in conjunction with the Smart Hub as a burglar alarm is sadly farcical. It is not loud enough to scare off anyone plus can be easily unplugged by a burglar. It is however useful as a means to alert you via your phone and it also keeps a log of triggered times, which is all I wanted it for. If you have any Tapo bulbs or plugs it can of course be used to turn these on/off also. Do a little research to ensure its capabilities meet your requirements and don’t purchase during one of Amazon’s periodic temporary price hikes and you should be satisfied.

Per il momento sono super soddisfatto, un solo falso rilevamento in più di una settimana di utilizzo. Sarà da valutare la durata della batteria

I do rate Tapo kit, and these senses are invaluable. Pretty sure they don’t need to be so expensive though.
