This CB is AM only. It has a lot of features like NOAA weather channels (you can listen to them), a weather alert which will bypass whatever CB channel you are listening to and transfer to the NOAA weather broadcast in your area. It also has scan so you can let it scan through all the CB channels and stop when it detects an Rx, and when the transmission ends, it will start scanning again. It has the ability to set the emergency channel to whatever you want. So you can set it to channel 19 and when your driving and you want to easily go back to 19, just push the EMG button. It has TalkBack, Roger beep, noise blanker, PA system, and auto squelch, which President says it has a third generation patent on it. This radio is state of the art, that is, it's all surface mount components. This means there will be very little frequency drift due to temperature. This radio has really great receive as well as transmit. The chassis is the same size as the Uniden PC505XL, including the heat sink on the back. Uniden owns President so this is basically a Uniden product.If you are the kind of person that doesn't like a a lot of digital options on a radio, I would say get the Uniden PC505XL, I also own that radio and it is a solid and excellent performing radio for a dirt cheap price. However, if you like a radio with lots of functions, and you don't mind learning the key combination to use them, then this radio is, in my opinion, one of the best AM CB radios for the money in the modern era of 10-11 meter rigs.

I've been using CB for about 10 years now, and the President Andy USA CB is a compact, but has many functions. I drive professionally as an escort and this CB is superb in performance. Scan, Roger Beep, NOAA/EMG Alert, Auto-Squelch, 7 color display, loud internal speaker with external speaker port, talk-back, Noise Blanker, and TOT function. This CB makes communication on the road simplistic and reliable and while being of professional quality. The mic is pretty decent and the unit transmits/receives well. Make sure to use a good antenna such as Road Pro or FireStik.President CB is reliable, professional, and gives you a TWO YEAR Warranty on the unit! Highly Recommend for professional drivers and person who travel often for work. A great unit to stay connected while on the road.

I normally only use a CB when driving on logging roads in Idaho to communicate with the logging trucks to avoid meeting them in tight spots on single-lane dirt roads. I got a President Andy for a cleaner, more modern-looking install in a Toyota Tundra where I had very limited room and wanted the radio to be somewhat hidden in the center console and still look good. I did wire up an external CB speaker under the dash since the radio itself is hidden. Combined with a 3' Firestik antenna I have a good 2-5 mile range in the mountains and the radio sounds really great. I've never heard other users with such clarity. The automatic squelch control makes this so easy to use too, no need to constantly be adjusting squelch or missing out on calls. I was recently on an unfamiliar road where I couldn't find a marked channel so I used the scan option and picked up chatter, I called out and found it was the correct channel being used by loggers and avoided a big logging truck heading my way 1 mile out. The weather scan is also a nice touch when out of reach of cell phones for weather updates. The compact design is simple to use, and I only need to reference the manual to understand how to change modes, turn off beeps/alarm, etc. A definite step up over the Uniden 510's I've used in the past, both in style and performance.

This is a good alternative if you don't have space for a regular single din sized CB such as a Uniden 980SSB. The reason I only give it four stars is that I think the button assignment could have been better. Example, instead of a button for pa/cb. Make the button a weather button with long press for pa/cb. Who even uses a pa anymore.I compared the President Andy, President Bill, President Johnny III, and Uniden 980SSB (already owned the uniden as a base station). I didn't have room for the Uniden so I went with the President Andy. The tipping scale between all the president models was the speaker loudness. Means I don't have to have an external speaker. With the Bill model I definitely would have needed an external speaker and possibly for the Johnny model. I wanted a compact radio for highway use, so went with AM rig and not one with SSB. After basic settings were made, I check output power. Key-down on Channel 19 shows about 6.5 watts out, when I talk it swings 13 to 17 watts. Many dial colors to choose from, I chose the darker blue as it is less distracting at night. Internal speak is OK, but I input the audio into my trucks sound system and listen through the stereo speakers so I am able to adjust bass/treble sound. On transmit it draws 1.8 amps so easy to power to run off my power socket on the lower dash which supplies up to 10 amps. Instruction manual easy to read and explains all functions very well. Great rig for the price.

Awesome little AM radio. Great reception and transmissions as long as you have a good antenna that is tuned for low SWR readings. The mounting bracket was a little flimsy to me, so I mounted my radio using 3M heavy duty hook and loop tape (not going anywhere, trust me). But my favorite feature is the NOAA weather stations I can pickup. I get 4 out of the 7 weather channels where I live. That feature alone allows me to keep my eyes on the storms and on my radar while I’m out spotting for the National Weather Service. Plus you can set the weather channels to ALERT. which means that you can be talking to other people over the 40 channels, and if something is happening with the weather in your area, if will ALERT you and automatically change over to the weather channels. This radio keeps me in tune with other storm spotters in the area. Great little radio people. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GETTING ONE!!! Don’t hesitate!!!!

First impressions: The mic looks very well made. The heatsink is really nice. Quality 100% great, Packing great. There will be a follow up after I fire it up. The weather channels work super, and they scan great. It is not cheaply made. Fast delivery also. I had a weather station fail, but it was not the radio it was the service. I am going to keep it Cancel the return label.

Love the format, color screen and clarity of readout. The only fault is the speaker has horrible tinny sound. No tone adjustment makes it sound cheap
