Perfect to secure your trailer
Excellent heavy duty hitch lock. Very easy to install on trailer hitch. Your trailer should be secure from being stolen. Well worth the price for security.

Amazing Lock. Amazing Service!
So I'd like to do a pretty comprehensive review of this lock because I had quite an experience with multiple locks of theirs and their customer service representative. First, I'll go through the features ratings that I did on the lock. Easy to Install: Yes, very simple and easy. Comes with two keys plus a lock key tag that has specific numbers on it that you can use to order either extra keys or extra locks that match existing locks and keys. Easy to Use: Yes very easy to use. I don't see how you could not figure it out. Security features: I gave this 4 stars, and this is tied into a rather complex story that I'll get into shortly. Service: Impeccable. Customer service representative went above and beyond to solve my issue, so much as to take my request to the design team of engineers and fix the problem at the source, and re-manufacture the part to work better. Quality: Top notch quality. Super heavy duty. You would need to break or severely bend the trailer coupler before this lock ever came off. The Story: So last April, I bought one of the locks for my trailer. When taking it out. I looked it over carefully and just admired the most expensive lock I'd ever bought. On the steel ball part of the lock (which also contains the key and locking mechanism), I noticed that the locking pin that catches on the other part of the lock had some play in it. I didn't think too much about it initially and used it for a few months, but over time, it seemed to have more play in it than I remembered. I e mailed the Amplock representative after explaining the situation and sending a hand drawn diagram of the problem I was having, they sent me another lock. When I got this lock in, the new one also had a good amount of play in it, not quite as much as the old one, but enough to make me wonder why it was there and if my old one had originally had that much and gotten worse over time. I explained that situation to the representative and they eventually got back to me and said they would be addressing the issue with the design team and would be manufacturing an updated model to the lock I got that would fix the issue. It took a little over a month, but I got my new lock in. It was much better. There was still a very small amount of play in the locking pin, but far better than the last two they had sent and enough to look like it was going to be a very good long term lock. Maintenance: In order to service the lock, Amplock recommends silicone free PL-100 lubricant. I've read reviews before complaining of seized up locks from improper care and not using the proper lubricant. Despite the 5 star review on Amplock locks and their service, I feel they could improve slightly by including their recommended lubricant in their literature and Amazon listing. Heck, for $265, I think it wouldn't be a bad idea for them to include a little mini spray can of their recommended lubricant, just so people can get started off on the right foot using it and so they'll know exactly what to use. Other than that though, Amplock has really got a good product, and their customer service is very helpful and they stand behind their product. I've heard people review this item saying "this is the lock you buy after your trailer gets stolen" and I quickly realized that the current lock I had on mine was a very minor deterrent, and I run a landscaping business out of my trailer, so I wasn't going to chance it.

Expensive but worth it...
First let me say I've tried a lot of different trailer hitch locks and there's a lot of useless garbage out there that can be defeated with nothing more than a 3 lb sledge hammer. They're inexpensive for a reason, they're CHEAP junk! The AMPLOCK U-BRP2516 RV/Trailer Coupler Lock is not cheap in any aspect. This AMPLOCK U-BRP2516 RV/Trailer Coupler Lock is by far the most robust and nicest of any trailer hitch lock I've ever tried. The shear weight of the device (~12 lbs) lets you know that if someone wants to try and remove it you can bet they'll have their work cut out for them. They may eventually get it off, but they'll have invested a lot of time and sweat in doing so. I'm sure the noise they'll have made in trying to get it off will have alerted you, or someone else, to the fact that something is going on. It is expensive, but I look at it as the price of the insurance deductible (~$265) if the trailer was to be stolen, minus the hassle associated with having to deal with replacement of all of the ancillary gear that was in the trailer. I purchased an extra set of keys ($25 for 2 keys), it comes with 2-keys, after I received the device because you ARE NOT going to go down the local ACE hardware store and have a spare made. They are custom keys that are designed and manufactured by AMPLOCK for the lock mechanism. If you lose the key identifier tag that comes with the original keys you are going to be up the "proverbial" creek without a paddle because you need BOTH key code and key identifier number to get spares from AMPLOCK. Save yourself the pain and buy a couple spare keys!

Feels like part of a battleship or armored tank! It's awesome.
Superman would have a hard time bending this lock. And I love that the keys are all heavy duty and unique to each lock. Keys comes with an engraved serial number plate, in case you may need to order new ones. Just look how thick the lock is with my fingers on it. Its 100% solid. We love our beautiful motorcycle/cargo trailer.. So we wanted a LOCK that lets us rest easier while on vacations, or even when it's just sitting in the driveway at home. The lock is super HEAVY (easily 10 pounds). Yes, it's a bit expensive, but it's the Real Deal! Nobody is hammering it off, torching it or breaking it. Plus, if you have a large heavy trailer, they won't even try to hook up chains and drag it away with this lock on it, because your trailer will be smashing the back of their vehicle bad.. After you see and feel the lock next to all the everyday so-called good locks, there is no comparison.

Trailer Lock
The lock appears to be extremely heavy duty, only time will tell if it detours thieves.

FABULOUS!
Bought this after doing extensive research and after seeing Lockpick Lawyer's review. It's compact, easy to install/remove as needed, virtually impossible for someone to break into, very hefty. My only advice is "don't drop it on your toes/foot" :-)

Strong, but a little sloppy
The last style of affordable hitch lock I used broke within a year. The Amplock is strong and I feel will last a long time. Only concern is the fit is a little sloppy. It does not fit tightly on the lip of the hitch. There should be an adjustment to tighten the ball within the body of the lock. When I release the hitch, the Amplock does stay in place, I just wish it felt more secure.

Nice lock
Very nice, very heavy duty lock. Glad I bought it, as it seems superior compared to most other locks of this style. I have two minor complaints though. Firstly, I wish there was a way to adjust the piece that the lock mechanism latches on so that the whole unit fit a bit more snug. Secondly, I feel if the price was a bit lower, this lock would appeal to more people! I’ve showed it to a few friends and they love it, but said they wouldn’t buy one due to the price point. I was able to justify it because my trailer and its contents are higher valued. Lastly, I really feel that this coupler lock should include a heavy duty lock for the coupler latch, just my opinion. Aside from these small things, I still highly recommended this unit if you want to help keep your trailer secure!

Very secure
After watching an online video reviewing a number of locks I purchased this one for a couple of reasons. First the keyway is underneath the lock so it's not only protected from weather but makes it more difficult to pick upside down. Second, the lock is made of thick hardened steel and can't be smashed to pieces with a hammer. Lastly, it would be very difficult to try and remove the lock with a pry bar, it's a tight fit and there is no exposed collar. I have a background in law enforcement and know many locks are easily broken or picked that's why I purchased this to protect the investment I have in my travel trailer.
