Very Challenging But Fun Build
This is the second wooden puzzle/model that I have done and this one was definitely a challenge! The first one was from a different company and you can tell a big difference in the quality and attention to detail of the Ugears models. Take your time and go over each step several times before snapping parts together! Once together, they are hard to get apart. In step 3, make sure you trap the spring between the two pieces. Be very careful snapping parts off of the sheets! Just go slowly and work your way around the part in stages instead of all at once. Sand the burrs off of everything and wax, wax, wax every where they show you in the instructions. I was able to not break any part during this build. As far as the parts that are designed to bend, I found it helpful to sand the backside really well and it seemed to make them bend a little easier. On the rear fenders, make sure you donโt snap the upper and lower fender together fully until you bend the fender around and lock it in. Then snap them together. Otherwise, itโs easy to break the fender trying to bend it. As another reviewer said, I also lowered the air cleaner and added a couple of spare parts on top for a cleaner look! Loved this build and plan on doing more Ugears soon!

Great car project/puzzle.
Great little wooden toy puzzle to put together. Doors and hood opens up. Works fine.

Kind of a mixed bag
This is a high quality model kit, leaps and bounds beyond the competitors as far as quality goes. The instruction manual is good. Given how complex the assembly of a product like this is, I give the instructions about an 8 on a 10-scale, and that's crucial. I spent some time staining this as I assembled it. It was a lot of fun, easily the most fun I've had putting together one of these kits to date. The end result looks very cool, and there were no broken parts along the way. Why only four stars? The first issue is that the top looks goofy when it is down. The rubber bands that were installed for tension don't seem to stay attached. No worries, though, as I just put it on my shelf with the top up. Maybe a half a star off for that? The other issue is that it doesn't actually work, and I'm not sure why. Everything seemed to be going extremely smoothly, no issues whatsoever anywhere along the line. Once I got to a certain point in the assembly, though, everything just stopped working at a time when I wasn't even working on the drivetrain. I think that a piece or a part of a piece must have gotten wedged in one of the gears or something. I was only able to back up a couple of steps at that point. I didn't want to go back further for fear of breaking things. Now on the surface, it's not such a bit deal because all this is going to do is sit on a shelf, but it's a bit annoying that it doesn't actually work the way it's supposed to. I'm just a bit miffed because everything the instruction manual told me to test along the way looked fine. So, I suppose another half star off for that. I will be purchasing more Ugears kits in the past. In fact, I have one ready to begin assembly now. Ugears has other kits that have a drive train like this, so there is a high likelihood that I'll purchase this kit again in the future to see if I can finish it correctly (while putting on a more flashy paint job!) As far as value goes, this kit is about "top of the line". I got more than a week's enjoyment out of this (about 8 days) for less than $60, and the entire project was a lot of fun. There are about nine other Ugears kits that are on my wish list at the moment. Next up is the cabriolet.

5 stars!
I really enjoyed building this one. I had no issues getting any of the parts loose from the sheets. As with any wood models you you want to carefully work the pieces out. The two features on this one I like the most is that the doors handles slide to open and close the doors using a wood spring instead of rubber bands and the rear axle has all the gears so each rear wheel can move independently. The engine rocks side to side when it runs. Also has 4 wheel suspension. I have not been able to get it to drive in forward and reverse while on the ground but it does work. I believe this is due to me adding colors, clearcoat and gold leaf to moving parts. As I continue to mess with it these should loosen up and it should start to move on its own. The instructions are easy to understand and be sure to use the provided wax in all areas that have movement. The instructions also show where to apply wax.

Missing springs.
I have built several of these kits from Ugears and never had parts missing. As other reviewers have stated for over a year apparently many kits are missing the 4 suspension springs. UGears do you read your reviews???? Disappointing.
