⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I bought a Spirograph set and accidentally unlocked my inner Victorian mathematician with artistic instability I got the Spirograph Design Set (Creative Drawings, Ages 8+) thinking it would be a fun little nostalgic activity. What I didn’t expect was to enter a state of obsessive spiral-based perfectionism. At first: “Ah yes, I’ll just make a simple pattern.” Ten minutes later: I am carefully selecting gears like I’m performing surgical design engineering. Twenty minutes later: I am fully emotionally invested in whether a circle should be clockwise or counterclockwise. The set itself is genuinely brilliant: * Loads of precision wheels and rings for endless designs * Spiro-putty that actually keeps everything in place (no more “why is this sliding into chaos” moments) * Pens, paper, and a guide that starts simple and then quietly leads you into geometric obsession What starts as “kids’ creative toy” quickly becomes: * “I wonder what happens if I offset this gear by 3mm” * “This looks like a galaxy, I am now an artist” * “I have been doing spirals for 47 minutes and I forgot to drink water” Pros: * Extremely satisfying results that look way more complex than the effort you admit to * Weirdly relaxing once you surrender to the spiral logic * Great for kids and adults who enjoy mild creative spiralling into obsession Cons: * You will start referring to patterns as “compositions” * You may judge other people’s circles silently * Time ceases to exist once you begin Final verdict: 10/10 creative chaos. 10/10 chance of becoming the family member who says “I made this pattern” completely unprompted at gatherings.

I have mixed feelings about this set.
The patterns are as I remember as a child although the quality of the 'toy' is not. I remember having to pin the wheel down to hold it sturdy. I don't find this one very sturdy and if you hold with the 'gum' then it pulls the paper away when you try to release your design. I know it didn't cost a fortune, but my granddaughter wanted to put the designs she did on a board and she had to do lots in order to get a few that she could display. Also, the bar and the odd shaped internal wheel were close to useless because of their unsteadiness. I have mixed feelings about this set.
