ICD-9-CM Inpatient Coding Reference and Study Guide Paperback – July 9, 2010

I gave this book a second chance despite the errors that I was seeing, and after reviewing this book, I think this book is pretty good if you are going to sit for the CCS exam or you just want to learn more about coding. However, I would not recommend this to anyone who has no experience in coding because the errors may really confuse you if you are not familiar with the coding guidelines.

I bought this book to help me make the transition from Outpatient Coding to Inpatient Coding. I was very disappointed to see it is riddled with errors and missing information. It doesn't appear to have been proof-read before printing. Page 28 lists Hypertrophy of the Prostate as V58.11...!? MANY of the quizzes have more questions than the number of answers in the "Answer Key". Very frustrating to complete a quiz and have no answer to some questions... It really should have come with an addendum insert, at the least!!! The cost was far too much for the quality...

The book is more perfect if has main term explanation for example :785.52 Septic-see also condition, shock or for hypertension or neoplasm see neoplasm table, or for drug

Great review....... I would highly recommend before setting for your CCS exam! It goes into detail and explains the charting process.
