DIYHD 12FT Rolling Ladder Hardware Sliding Rail,Top Roller,Floor Wheel with Brake

I was a little bit leery after reading some other reviews. I read that it is difficult to install, the connectors fit too loosely and the hardware is junk. I had none of these problems. Maybe I'm just a bit more mechanically inclined than some. It was not difficult to install at all. The little plugs that are used to connect the extensions do fit loosely when they are not mounted to the bookcase, but once it's mounted, they're as sturdy as can be. I can hang my 200lb body on the spot where they connect and it doesn't budge. As far as the hardware is concerned... The screws are an M10. That's a pretty big screw. If you try to screw it directly into wood, there is a really high likelihood that you are going to strip the head or break it clean off (with an impact). It doesn't matter what brand of screw. Take the time to drill a pilot hole for each screw and it will work just fine. This installed like a breeze, looks great, and works perfectly. We are completely satisfied with it.

This hardware package is very high quality, the steel is appropriate thickness and rollers are sealed bearings! The rail also was unexpectedly well made and solid.. I am often disappointed by kits like this, in that the pieces tend to be light duty for this price, but this kit was a great value?

Decent for the price, but the wood is warped so your ladder will not sit flush to the rail!

Works great. We installed it in our cabin to access the loft area and the ladder rolls beautifully.

Does not matter if rails and slides are good if the hardware to secure and attach it is junk. Screws all snapped trying to put in because cheap, cheap, cheap inferior metal used. And when you think about it, all the strength comes from the hardware attachment to structure. Weak attachment sets up for failure. Really a shame that “manufacturer” cuts so many corners. In addition there are no instructions. Not difficult to figure out, but the design requires disassembly of feet to gain access to holes to attach. Wish I would have bought something different.

Only giving it a four star because the screws could be stronger, and im not a fan of the wheel locking system. other wise a great cheap way to have a rolling ladder and it works great!
