When my nephews, Jaden and Jigme, inevitably catch a seasonal bug, having a reliable, comforting remedy on hand is absolutely essential. I picked up this Vicks Children's VapoRub, and it is the perfect middle ground between effectiveness and gentleness for younger kids. Here is why it stays in our medicine cabinet: The Formula: The children's version is noticeably gentler than the standard adult VapoRub. It doesn't have that intensely sharp, eye-watering menthol smell, making it much more soothing for little ones who are already fussy and uncomfortable. Effectiveness: True to its claims as a topical cough suppressant and analgesic, rubbing a thin layer of this on their chest genuinely helps quiet nighttime coughs so everyone can actually get some sleep. Comfort: The scent is very calming, and the physical routine of rubbing it on provides a nice, comforting placebo effect on top of the actual medicine. The Minor Drawback: Because it is a thick ointment, it is inherently greasy. I highly recommend having the kids wear a dedicated, older undershirt immediately after applying it, otherwise, the oils can leave stubborn stains on their nice pajamas or their bedsheets. Verdict: An absolute must-have for the winter months. It provides reliable, gentle relief without the overwhelming harshness of adult cold rubs. Highly recommend!

Good quality
Good for kiddos and older folks with sensitive skin. Vicks works best. I've tried other types but vicks seems to last longer on the body scent-wise

Great for kids congestion, cold and cough
I use this for my kids when they are congested or have a cough or cold and it helps them sleep. It smells just like the adult version and my kids don’t seem to mind. I tell them it might smell spicy just to warn them. I always make sure this is on hand and even had a small tiny travel tin one.
