Dermablend Loose Setting Powder & Primer Primer I love this hydrating primer. This fills in pores and fine lines to help create a smooth surface for your foundation. It really smoothes everything out. My foundation went on much better and lastest longer. This stuff is like glue though so be prepared for that texture. It does dry down quickly and doesn't lose the gripping properties. Ingredients Aqua / Water / Eau, Polysorbate 80, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, PEG-150 Distearate, 1,2-Hexanediol, PEG-150 Stearate, Hydroxyacetophenone, Panthenol, PVP, PEG-150, Stearic Acid, Quercus Suber Bark Extract, Sodium Phytate. Finishing Powder This is a very lightweight finishing powder that does a great job of protecting your foundation. It does a good job on my super dry skin and doesn't it make it dry out any further in warm weather. This does NOT work for me when it is cold out since the moisture in my skin is really reduced. I put this on right after applying my foundation and used a fluffy kabuki brush. This does have a bit of flashback so if you are taking pictures, I would use something else. Ingredients Talc. Dermablend has a reputation for high-quality cosmetics, so I was curious to try the setting powder and Insta-Grip Jelly primer. These products work together to keep your make-up fresh-looking all day long. The jelly primer is a clear gel that leaves your skin slightly sticky and ready for foundation. The setting powder goes on over your foundation products. Overall, I think these products are ideal for people who wear heavy makeup (and liquid foundation) that needs to stay put for long periods of time. I'm more of a minimalist make-up wearer who usually wears a little concealer and some tinted SPF for everyday wear. These products didn't really do much for me. I got the setting powder in the original white-tinted shade. It works well to eliminate shine, but as a pale white person, it just made me look even more pasty looking. I found myself needing to put on some powder bronzer or blush after using this product...so it just added more steps to my daily routine than I prefer. I think the tinted setting powders might be a better bet. Overall, if you wear heavy makeup, perhaps to cover up skin imperfections or scars, these products would probably work well for you.

I bought this to go with the Dermablend liquid foundation drops. I have combination skin. The primer is extremely thick and sticky, does not spread evenly, and feels like rubbing honey all over my face. Foundation literally peels off when wearing the primer. The powder is also heavy and dries out my skin. The powder makes my foundation so cakey.

I like the powder and recommended it. But the primer does NOT work. It actually made my makeup come off easier and was more noticeable when it came off (I want able to blend it). So would recommend the powder to everyone, but not the primer at all!

PRIMER: There is a big texture difference between Putty/Silicone based primers and this Jelly primer. DB's primer is clear and extremely sticky [think glue] and I wasn't sure it would pair with my EL Dbl Wear foundation but it did; however its important to let it dry several minutes prior to applying foundation. Having tried several methods to stop my foundation from creasing/settling into my fine lines with little success I tried this primer just on my laugh lines. Following moisturizer, I patted it over my lines [used ELF putty primer on the rest of my face] let it dry and applied foundation. Finally success!! My lines are still there but the creasing was gone. Aside from having gripping and staying power, the box mentions that it has "moisturizing with tightening effects"; I'm not sure which attribute is responsible for my results and don't care as long as it keeps working to stop the creasing. This primer gets 5 stars from me. NOTE: need to speed up the drying time? Hitting it with a hair dryer [set on cool shot] does the trick. SETTING POWDER: The setting powder is white but goes on translucent, is finely milled, leaves a matte finish and is for "all skin types". Trying the Baking technique to cover some broken capillaries, I put a heavy application of powder over my concealer, let it sit for 2 mins [per instructions] then buffed it off and applied foundation. I can now attest to its staying power even when subject to heat indexes 110 and up. I recently met friends for coffee in a restaurant who's AC was barely working. My concealed/Baked area never budged even though we were all melting and blotting sweat off our faces! The powder also gets 5 stars. FYI NOTE: it does contain Talc

I'm at the age where if I can avoid my foundation setting into my lines/wrinkles - I'm all in. I've used powders like this before to give me that air brushed look - now I'm satisfied with my foundation not sitting in my lines/wrinkles. This did a pretty good job. I use a tinted moisturizer and 'still' could see it sitting in those lines - this powder is light and has some reflective qualities in it so you look refreshed. If you put on just a little, that's the silver bullet - don't pack it on! Less is more here. The gel primer works well too - yes, it's tacky but so what if you're make up looks polished/professional. Small price to pay tbh.

Great translucent powder. Soft, powdery fine. I have light medium skin with yellow undertones. Initially it makes me look kinda pale but blends nicely after setting spray. To avoid a cakey mess you have to correctly apply your foundation and concealer. Press, press, press that foundation into your skin and clean up any build up in your wrinkles and fine lines with the tip of a beauty blender. The sticky primer is no joke. I feel like I’m applying body adhesive. Super tacky but once you go through the process of applying all your makeup and setting powder, your skin feels soft. I did notice that my makeup had more staying power, especially my blush which is always the first to fade. I’m still not completely sold on the primer, there are others I enjoy using much more. The loose powder is great though.
