If you’re hesitating, just go for it!
I don’t usually write reviews, but I need to review this product. I’ve been wanting a soft serve ice cream maker for years, but I didn’t want to spend tons of money, and didn’t want to deal with tons of parts that I need to clean and keep track of. I bought this on a Black Friday deal and just tried it tonight. I did it together with my two youngest kids, and we used the easy vanilla ice cream recipe, except I cut down on the cream to 1 qt, because that’s all I had. It was super easy to do, came out AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS, with the perfect soft serve texture. Plus, there was enough even in my modified batch for all six kids. The few parts are so easy to wash. So worth it!

Great product!
I used it for the first time yesterday and the ice cream turned out great! The instructions were confusing, they didn’t make sense. I ended up watching a YouTube video on how to assemble it. The motor isn’t that loud, which was my main concern. It’s way more quiet than a blender as reference. The instructions said to freeze the huge bucket but I was confused and ended up freezing the silver bucket. By the time I figured out how to assemble it, it wasn’t cold anymore. Which wasn’t an issue because the ice makes it cold anyways as it churns! It ran for bout thirty minutes. The ice was kind of melting as time went on so I just kept an eye on it to add more ice and rock salt. Also it said to use crushed ice chunks, which I didn’t have so I just used small square ice cubes.

Who Loves Ice Cream?
I do! I've been wanting an ice cream machine for a long time. I finally took the plunge with this unit. My first batch (easy chocolate-from the included book) tastes more like a fudgscicle than ice cream, but I chalked that up to the recipe. And I do love fudgsciles. The second thing to remember is that it uses A LOT of ice. For a small batch, have at least 5 pounds of ice. Ice cream salt works the best, too. Unit is very easy to clean despite its size. Overall, I'd give this machine 4.5 stars.

easy to use
I bought this ice cream maker instead of a similar one that I have bought in the past. It is easy to use, definitely slows down when the ice cream is about done. I figured that for the price, if I was able to make a few batches, it would be worth it. I was impressed that I was able to make 5 conainers ( 48 oz). And it still worked!. Easy to clean, did not leak water all over the counter. For this maker, rock salt or kosher salt is needed, & lots of ice. No need to pre freeze the bowl. I started with a custard mix that I had made before that had cooled in the fridge. Would buy again.

Nostalgia Electric Ice Cream Maker - Old Fashioned Soft Serve Ice Cream Machine. Brown - 4 Quart
I ordered my Old Fashioned Nostalgia 4qt Ice Cream Maker & got it 4 days early👍 I love that it looks just like a real ice cream cone WITH chocolate ice cream😋🍦🤤 I haven't got to use it yet & in the instructions they call the bucket the canister & the canister the bucket. But I looked for & found vids on these & everybody including me loves it 😁 So I can't wait to use it.

Homemade low-sugar peach ice cream
$24.99 during prime week 2023. I spent $42 or so buying enough cream and milk to fill the over 6 cups needed for this machine. A 7lb bag of ice was barely enough for what was needed. It worked and I got some yummy ice cream. My takeaways are that you absolutely have to be patient with it while it runs and make sure the cylinder is frozen solid. I got enough ice cream to share with extended family, and I do love the fact that I was able to cut the sugar and could chose which ingredients to add. You might not use it all the time due to dairy costs, but if you need a machine, this will do.

So far so good! But one (apparently deliberate) error in description
We’ve only used it once, and it did a great job and the ice cream recipe from the insert was delicious. Really hoping that it’s durable overtime. - we’ll see. One big con - it clearly says that it comes with a handle, but it does not. The manufacturer claims that they didn’t know this, that it was an Amazon error they had no control over. I asked them to make it right, and they declined. Reviews from quite a ways back, made it very clear that other people were deceived into thinking that it had a handle as well. That’s not a good way to do business! The description of what we’re paying money for should be accurate! If the seller/manufacturer had given me at least some small compensation, for what was obviously their error, I would’ve given this a higher rating. Unfortunately, that is a factor.
