I tutor ESL online and I was looking for a book to help guide my overseas students. I was reasonably happy with this book. I think that the stories are good for this grade level. However, I was looking forward to more grammar exercises, as I have seen in other Wonders Series books before. This one doesn’t have anything like that. At the end of every short story, there is an exercise about how to analyze literature, for example, for plot and character development. While interesting, this is a bit repetitive since it is similar at the end of every chapter, and I just don’t feel like kids get that much out of it at this age. I was looking forward to grammar exercises, which is what they really need. Besides that, no complaints. I bought a used book and it was well-priced.

I bought this book as my daughter has the same book for her class work. So now we are working with it at home and can be prepared for classes.
