FILA Surface Care Solutions PRW200 Grout Release, 1 QT

This is a grout release solution to be used prior to grouting your tile or stone project. I have not tried it on any tile but, it works great for stone work. It is a chemical mixture and I don’t recommend using without proper ventilation. I wore gloves and opened the window while I applied it and had no adverse reaction whatsoever. I used this solution on a rock fireplace that needed to have several areas where the original grout had fell out and needed to be replaced. I have not done very much grouting and had put it off fearing I couldn’t match the original grouting. This was a real game changer as far as making it look right and the outcome was fantastic. I was able to remove the grout from the areas I needed to easily and it looks like new. There was a place where the stones had soot on them and nothing I had tried would remove the discoloration before. Now I can’t tell where the stains even were. If you plan on doing a diy project involving tile or stone then I recommend using this product. You will find it saves time and it’s a great value for the price.

I don't think I realized when I ordered this that it was not for ceramic or porcelain tile. It says it's for stone and porous materials like that. I don't really install that kind of product, so I decided to try it on porcelain tile. I used a different grout release that is designed for porcelain tile on part of the floor. Another part I didn't use any grout release. And on part of it I used this product (which is not really recommended for porcelain tile). The tile cleaned up better where this was used than where none was used, but not nearly as good as the area where I used what was designed for porcelain tile. This product is much thinner, which makes sense if using it on a porous surface, as it would soak in better if it's runnier. But that meant there wasn't as thick of a barrier on the porcelain tile to keep the grout from sticking. So this may work good on what it is intended to be used, but it's not the best product to use on porcelain tile.

This grout release works very well and makes cleanup after grouting much easier. It applies easily and helps prevent grout from sticking to the tile surface. A great product to use before grouting, especially for textured or porous tiles. Definitely a time-saver for tile projects.

I was not aware this product existed. I ordered it after reading reviews and YouTube posts. We are currently in the middle of a bathroom redo and will be doing a full tile shower. According to the YouTube reviews this product is exactly what we needed to make our project neater and easier to clean up. Not having done shower tile before it's hard to say how much easier this product made our cleanup but there were no problems with haze or difficulties wiping the tile clean. Our particular tile is an unglazed look on ceramic 1'x2' tiles. The matching floor tile was not as easy to clean without this release product.

The FILA PRW200 Grout Release worked really well for my tile project and made cleanup noticeably easier. It created a protective barrier that kept grout from sticking, and wiping everything down afterward took far less effort than usual. It’s simple to apply and a quart goes a long way. I used the FILA Grout Release on a large-format tile wet room shower, and it absolutely deserves five stars.
