SUNLITE Cruiser Foam Grip Set

I recently converted my road bike to a touring bike. I swapped out the drop bars for a slightly curved handlebar XLC Mountain Bike Handlebar, 50mm, 630mm, 25.4, Black , changed the brakes and shifters Shimano EF-51 Shifter/Brake Lever Combo (3 x 7 Speed) , installed new cables Schwinn Brake and Derailleur Cable Repair Set, Black , and added some bar ends Profile Design Boxer Bar End (Black) . This foam grip set added a nice final touch to my project. I especially like the contoured grips and the generous length of the long sections, more than enough for my whole project. As others have mentioned, these grips can be cut to length and install easily using a bit of soapy water. Great deal!

These fixed the rusted handle bar problem and look and feel great. Easier to slide on with a bit of liquid soap, but otherwise a quick and great looking fix.

I ended up splitting the set up for 2 bikes - the standard size grips for a mountain bike and the long grip for dropbar ends I use on my commuter. These would also work great on butterfly bars as well as cruiser bars. Installation - I soaked the grips in soapy water; they slid right on and then dried into place. On both bikes, they are on snug enough that I will have to cut them off. Not an issue on the dropbar ends (they're attachable handlebar ends from Origin8) since I won't need to remove them. However, the ones on the mountain bike may need to come off for maintenance of the shifters and brake levers. Feel - The foam feels great on the dropbar ends. It's too soft for the mountain bike, though. I imagine the feel is perfect for a cruiser. Durability - Just guessing here, but these grips appear tougher and sturdier than most foam grips.

I purchased this cruiser foam grip set to replace or rather install onto my Giant beach cruiser. The old grips had been completely chewed, torn, or weathered off. These grips were easy to install after squirting the bars down with a little windex. I added a little to the inside of the grip as well. I was then able to slide the long portion all the way down the bar to about 3 inches from the neck. This left just enough room to get the hand grips onto the remainder of the bar. I was able to finish the install by adding the end plugs which have a slight lip and help keep the grips all the way on the bars. I love the soft feel and texture of these foam grips. These are exactly what you expect to have on a beach cruiser. These give you the large comfortable feel of a soft foam grip. I did not receive any discounts for my honest review of these grips.
