Paying for the quality of the build, the consistency with color and of course the Philips branding. Ended up returning the originally ordered 2 “used” units and bought brand new as ppl seem to be purchasing this to remove the special light bulb it houses, and then return the unit. But I digress. This unit paired flawlessly with Hue Bridge and fitted right up, providing a good amount of light for our porch. Setting automatic schedule was easy, we love the modern look of the fixture and it was a breeze to install. I would probably recommend you pick this up on a Prime Day or Lightning sale as it is kinda steep in price for what it is, but the results are fantastic. Rgb+W function and tons of scenes to choose from. Just be aware, this unit has a special led light bulb in it that goes for $75+ by itself, so if this thing burns out, the cost to replace the lamp will be over 75% of the original cost of the new fixture as of writing this, which is probably why my first two units were returned as mentioned earlier. Overall would recommend this item, but would recommend you purchase the new, not used version of it.

I have a lot of hue lights in my house, probably 40 - 50 so it made sense to upgrade my outside lighting to the hue system! They are very bright and colors are awesome! They’re very easy to connect to the hue hub! If you’re looking to improve the looks and an outside light, get these with no regrets! They’re very art deco and looks good with my cape cod / farmhouse style! They’re very easy to install, I even did these myself! I had a couple for my other house (rental) and I had to have them installed by an electrician due to the siding on the house itself!

I have always been a big supporter of Hue lights. I’ve tried many other less expensive smart home brands in attempt to save money and nothing else compares. They’re bright, vibrant, reliable, and the Hue app is beautifully integrated with their hardware. So they’re well worth the price point in my opinion. This fixture was very easy to install and looks sleek and modern. Materials are also noticeably high quality. It just feels sturdy and well made. My one major complaint, is that the bulb they include in this $100 fixture is an old model so it doesn’t have the ability to do the flicker effects that newer bulbs have. I had to switch it out with one of my new bulbs to get this feature, which I think goes well with an outdoor lantern. Kinda gives it that old gas lamp effect. It just annoys me a little that I splurge on these expensive smart bulbs and fixtures and receive an outdated bulb. But I guess everyone cuts corners where they can these days. Deducted a star for this reason, but other than that it’s a great light fixture.

Have two of these and they work great! Easy to install in existing spot!

It’s a wonderful light and will do exactly what it’s advertised to do but it’s also designed to be the perfect place for a bird to build its home.
