Not great for high resolution sound
I wanted these speakers to use as part of a whole-home audio system using DTS Play-fi. They were easy to connect, attractive and well-built. I thought they lacked detail and sound quality when playing high resolution flac files. The tracks sounded as flat and lacked as much detail as a compressed mp2-to me anyway. They didn't compare to my Klipsch The Three. At this price point I wanted better so returned them. That cost me $81 for the cheapest ground rate I could buy at the UPS store.If you want them to play mp3 off your phone you'll probably be happy enough. If you want them for the high res audio capability I recommend you pass. Or at least go listen to them in person. It cost me a lot of money to return them.
