Precision cuts made easy — a must-have for any woodworker - Especially Beginners
The Kreg KMA2685 Rip-Cut guide is a game-changer for straight, accurate cuts with a side-blade circular saw. Setup is fast and simple, and once clamped, the guide stays rock solid — no wobble or drift. Cuts come out perfectly straight every time, which makes a huge difference on sheet goods or long boards. I’ve used it on plywood, MDF, and solid wood, and it performs flawlessly every time. It’s lightweight, easy to store, and incredibly sturdy. Tip: Double-check your saw’s compatibility before purchasing, but if it fits, this guide will dramatically improve your cutting accuracy and confidence. Highly recommended for DIYers and professionals alike — precision and peace of mind in one simple tool.

Great for Big Rip Cuts — But Packaging & Build Quality Lower the Score
I used this Kreg cutting system to break down large plywood sheets while building shelves for my built-in closet, and it definitely helped make the project more manageable. I’ve attached photos showing the plywood I ripped — from oversized sheets to narrow precision cuts. For large boards, this tool is a huge help, and I was even able to make cuts as narrow as 1 inch. However, several issues keep this tool from earning a higher rating. First, the product arrived in basic plastic packaging with no protective covering, and the jigsaw guide piece inside was already bent and scratched before I even started. For a tool meant to support precision work, this was disappointing and cost it a star on its own. Next, the latch mechanism used to set measurements doesn’t always stay locked. Adjusting the ruler takes more effort than it should, and at times I had to hold things manually to keep my measurements steady. The entire system is made of plastic, which raises durability concerns. Even tightening screws by hand caused bending — without using a drill. That doesn’t inspire confidence for long-term, repeated use. Sliding the jigsaw along the guide also takes finesse. The head attachment can shift or loosen during cuts, which slows the process and affects consistency. The instructions were okay, but I strongly recommend watching a video tutorial first. The spacing between the saw head attachment and the actual blade isn’t perfectly accurate, so doing several test cuts is essential before starting real projects. Despite these issues, this system does handle large rip cuts well, and with patience, you can achieve more precise cuts too. Overall, while this tool is very helpful for DIYers, especially for breaking down large panels, the packaging damage, plastic construction, and latch issues prevent it from being a top-tier product. Still, it’s a useful addition to a DIY toolkit — just expect some quirks.

I am highly satisfied with this tool
EDIT Its update time on this one yall. To start I stand by my enitial review of the product. After a few uses the slideing action did smooth out as I thought it would. As I allso mentioned the plastic felt like it was to brakable. And this latest episode ads credence as to why I feel It should be all mettle. The plastic lock snapped while I was sinching it down after an adjustment. I had not at any point in time gottent ruff with the tool. BUT it was sitting out in the blazeing sun for a good while as I was working out doors and had no real shade. So I do wander if the exces heat on the plastic didnt play a part in it. Iv uploaded picures to show whare the failure occured I'm highly satisfied with this tool. It's a snap to put together its light waight and easy to use. If you can mess up your cuts with this you mayby might want to find something ells to do Now despite my happiness with this product I do have some mild constructive criticism. 1 it would be really nice to get and all mettle version of this tool. I just feel like all the plastic parts can be broken. Even at a cost premium I would pay it 2 the adjustment on this thing is herky jerky rough not at all as smooth as I feel it could and should be it can allso effect fine mesurements. But Mayby this will level out with more use 3 this gose back to the all metle parts thing again. But the plastic clamp that holds the main line in place i wish wer metel as it feels like something that could eventuilly get warn out and iether snap or not make good grip. As well as the saw clamps themselves theyr metle rods anchored to plastic and the way that whole portion of the unit flexes upwhen ypu put tension on the mounting screws. Yea I think you can do somthing about that Now befor anyone starts throwing rotten food at there monitore I'm actuilly not bagging on this product far from it. So far nothing is brocken and everything is holding together. This is so far a good product. These are all just feed back for the company to take into consideration on any future tool updates

A life saver if the wood is not warped!
Husband loves it. Makes his cuts perfect. But, does not work well on warped wood.

Okay, But...
Adequate for general cut requirements. Very easy to assemble and connect to, but definite issues. Allows for left and right motored circs. It is better suited for more contemporary saws (7 1/4, etc.). Very dependent on plastic...not the strongest choice. It is better than a simple straight edge, but not a great deal better. Does NOT replace the accuracy and precision of a table saw. Anyone who sells this as a table saw replacement is doing the buyer a disservice. That is, uinless it is being compared to a weak, basic capable job site saw. There accommodation for tilt capabiility, to make straight line angled cuts, but does not provide for angled mitred cuts--also a capability on even to the most cheapest table saws out there. The critical anchor points for securing the saw to the base (the essential element of the setup--there are only two) are steel, but rooted in the plastic base...design flaw...seriously limits the available pressure that can be placed on the anchors when securing the saw to the base. This means that any resistance encountered during the cut, whether by knots, sap filled wood grain, or even an unintentional uneven pressure on the saw sled, can cause the base to move from its front mount. This means an ever so slight offset results which gives an offline result. So, is it worth the money? Depends on what you are using it for. For serious woodworking, where real precision counts, no, it's not worth it. For more general applications, it is better than nothing, and would probably, probably be welcomed...that's about it.

None of the issues reported by others (yet)
After reading all the negative reviews , I'm happy to say that it looks like I'm one of the lucky ones! All the pieces were in the package, including the screws. The edge guide and rail are perfectly square (several issues saying it was not) and the sled seems to slide nicely through the rail (some reviews indicated the sled was difficult to slide into the slot and it would bind up when slid). The angled side of the reversable nose piece/insert in the sled perfectly matches the rounded front contour of my Bosch CS10 saw footplate. Putting the saw into the sled took me about 10 minutes of fooling around because the sled clamp was interfering with the miter clamp on the saw. I adjusted the miter clamp so it would tighten up in a different position and thought I was done. The blade guard was centered in the slot on the sled. I then tried to adjust the saw for a miter cut, and of course the blade guard hit the sled slot. I adjusted the position of the saw in the sled (the sled has an adjustable block for saw position) and managed to adjust everything to allow a maximum 22-1/2 degree miter. Anything larger I'll have to use a different guide, but I don't often make miter cuts with a circular saw anyway, just thought I'd get what I could. Saw mounted to the sled square, and I ended up with about a 1/8" gap between the sled and the footplate with everything tightened up. The sled-to-rail clamp seems to be an issue for several people, reporting it cracks/breaks easily. I played with it a little, and noticed it has a detent (which locks it down pretty securely) at about half the travel I was expecting. When the clamp is loose it pretty much lays flat onto the sled. As you go to tighten it, there's a detent at about 10 degrees past the vertical position that locks it pretty well, although I was able to force the rail to move. Then there's a second detent when the clamp is at about a 45 degree angle to the sled, which really locks that baby down. It seems like, unless you're working at an odd angle and inadvertently put a lot of side force on the saw, the first detent would be more than adequate to prevent any sled movement on the rail, as you should only be putting straight pressure on the saw in the direction of cutting. Not sure if some of the breakage other people were experiencing was due to clamping to the second detent or further, thinking the clamp should end up flat with the sled when secured. Won't have that answer until I've made a few cuts but not too worried about that yet. Getting everything fit together properly was what had me worried after reading the negative reviews, it seems like most of the cutting problems were based on the assembly issues I mentioned above so I have high hopes that it will work fine from here. I haven't used it yet but I'll update if I encounter any other problems.

The little thing that could
This is a great product. I’m a carpenter by trade. It’s like having a table saw set it and start ripping fast and easy. We’ll work on any. Saw just a few modifications couple screw turns and you’re off to go if your brakes I’ll definitely buy another one.

Great quality
I bought a cheaper one off Amazon which failed miserably over the quality of the securing grub screws which were useless, they failed within a couple of times removing the saw from the frame. So I sent it back and purchased the Kreg one. The Kreg is a much superior quality tool in every way. So pay the extra and go for the Kreg you won't regret it. It's really accurate and can soon rip a 4 ft board in half, so if like me, you like to buy 8x4 sheet material but have to have it delivered because you can't get the width of the board in your car, this is ideal for ripping them into 2 ft widths to slide into the car, if you have the right car that is of course, which I thankfully do. I've also removed and replaced my saw numerous times and the grub screws haven't had any issues, like the cheaper version I previously purchased. So I'm well happy!
