The book is indeed very helpful for those preparing for competitive exams. --> It is well-organized. So, it saves you the extra time you would've spent browsing through countless other NCERT books. This is beneficial for REVISION. --> Contents are thorough, very thorough. There are 38 chapters in this book, of which 11 are ANCIENT, 9 are MEDIEVAL, 13 are MODERN, and 5 are ART & CULTURE. --> I would not recommend it as a replacement to the actual NCERT books, because reading the whole story is essential for clarity. So, use it as a supplement to the standard books.

I am a history enthusiast. Just wanted to checkout the book. I teach 6 to 12 History and other subjects so I feel this is a nice summary book. yes, its too short, still there is good chunk of info to go through. 1 book investment for all years at this price is not a bad idea. I like it. But for school students, only this won't be enough...you need to study accordingly

Good for compitative exam like UPSC, state PSC ,NDA,CDS and other govt job.Read ncert book along with This note ,u can crack cse prelims etc.

This book is perfect for appsc, ssc and other state exams. You dont need to buy different books for one subject. This one covered all topics in short notes format. Pictures and maps make it easy to understand. But this book doesnt have question bank or previous papers bit which u have to buy MCQ'S material separately. Those who want for theoritical part. Then must buy book in such price. Price worthy !!!
