Simple, accurate , & dependable
yes, albeit, lightweight, its a great looking clock. Buying a 2nd one for other room. First one I've had for years now and it has endured much abuse without any sign of damage after multiple spills and falls (from a 4 foot high table to floor) so many times I lost count, but it keeps on ticking. Understated, contempo design with curved display, simple & ez to read numerals in soothing blue color, and best of all uses reliable, gold standard self-setting atomic time. Atomic time clocks receive & translate a radio signal from Fort Collins, CO so they do require a relatively unobstructed path in that direction, meaning it probably won't receive signal if placed in a basement or room that doesn't share an exterior wall, although I've had many with good reception in a single story deeply interior room, basically, place it near a window and you should be good. Avoid the electronic self-setters which truly lose track of time and don't allow user adjustments whatsoever•. LaCrosse in my opinion is king of the atomic clocks and Casio is king of atomic watches (remove the wristband, place 3m mounting tape on the back, and mount anywhere••carclock, travelclock, etc. ) Until we have affordable GPS clock radio's where GPS time is even more accurate than radio ("atomic") time, this is the most precise consumer grade bedside clock you'll find. To those with unfavorable reviews, all's can say is WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET•••so, If you don't like blue, if you want a brick-heavy clock, or if you don't meet the requirements or know the basics of atomic clock placement, look elsewhere, but this clock is best in class in my opinion.

It shouldn't be that hard to find a clock that works!
I have several clocks around in bedrooms and near TVs. One of my 30 year old clock keeps pretty good time, but the rest do not. I have 2 La Crosse Atomic wall clocks with the inside and outside temp that I like. I now wanted some table clocks like that, but would be visible in low light. How hard should that be? :) One clock on Amazon was listed as "auto set", but was only set at the factory, all you had to do is set the time zone. It was actually 2 minutes off, and after you adjusted it, there was no way for it to set to a reference server to keep it accurate. I returned it. I then bought a La Crosse Color Alarm Atomic clock with temp (inside/outside) and day/date. It was very nice, but the view angle was VERY POOR. It was useless in most locations. I just received this clock. It seems to be very lite weight, so I don't know how it will stand up to a lot of handling, like using the alarm buttons, but I will not use the alarm and seldom have to touch the clock. I plugged it in and finished an email I was writing. After about 2 minutes it set it self to the atomic time server! It has big blue digits that are pleasing and easy to read. I did a lot of research, but none of the atomic clocks that had temperature and were backlit for dark rooms work due to poor viewing angle. I am going to buy two more for my other TV stands. It will be nice to be able to see the correct time where ever I am in the house, not to mention without struggling see it at a limited angle. It shouldn't have been that hard to find a clock that works!

Great clock - a couple of glitches...
I have three of these clocks purchased back in 2021 - all three behave the same way. I really like them but for two issues: one of omission, and one of commission. The omission is that it should have an auto-dimming function that adapts to the ambient light level in the room. Having to dim the display manually is not convenient when used in a bedroom. The commission is a problem with the automatic Daylight Saving Time adjustment whereby it is ALWAYS a day late! Whether switching from standard to summer time in the Spring or from summer time to standard time in the Fall the time is not updated until one day after it should be. I've tried several tricks to see if I could get that to behave properly but have not been successful in getting it to work on time (no pun intended...). So, for two days each year I just ignore the displayed time from these clocks knowing that they will be correct on the next day. Perhaps the newer versions of this clock fixed the DST adjustment problem, but I have no way of knowing that.

Failed to Keep Accurate Time
No matter what features an alarm clock has, it is imperative that it do two things without fail: Keep accurate time and wake me reliably at a predetermined time. This clock, unfortunately failed at the former. Upon plugging in the clock, it took three attempts to find the radio signal and set itself, which is not unusual for an atomic clock. The alarm got set and life was wonderful for exactly six days. At that point, for reasons unknown to me, the clock reset itself in the middle of the night to be exactly 20 minutes fast. What?! I should note that I have two other atomic clocks in the house, and they did not suffer from this malady. That failure was annoying, but it would have been angering had it reset to be 20 minutes slow. Could that be next? Needless to say, I cannot trust this time piece and it is on its way back to Amazon. Beyond the clock’s failure to be a clock, here are some other observations for those still considering this purchase. Pros: The clock looks good and has a small footprint. You can adjust the length of the snooze, which is cool feature, it has a battery backup and a USB charging port. You can also dim or turn off the display altogether. Some have complained that even the dimmest setting was too bright, but I found that closing my eyes fixed that issue. Cons: The clock is VERY lightweight and the buttons are stiff. When trying to manipulate the buttons, the clock wants to wander around the nightstand. The snooze button is the same height as its neighboring buttons. As a result, it can be hard to find when you are half awake. More than once, I turned the alarm off when I just wanted hit snooze. The USB port is only 1 amp. Don’t count on your phone being charged quickly. It takes multiple clicks to turn the alarm off or on, instead of having a function specific button or slider. The battery backup only maintains your settings. The clock does not otherwise function if the power is out. So if the power fails when the alarm is supposed to go off, you’re late to work buddy. So in the end, I really wanted to like this product, but it just wouldn’t let me.

Randomly loses time sync, gets off by many hours. Display is hard to read.
As others have noted, the blue display is very bright. Even on the dim setting it is brighter than a nightlight. That bothers me less than I thought it would. It is also a pain to turn the alarms on and off. You have to go through all of the settings for both alarms to turn either of them on or off. Even on "HI" the alarms are not all that loud. There is no option for 24-hour display. These are relatively minor. The two things that really bother me are the LED segment layout and problems syncing to the radio source. The LED segments are laid out very close to each other, especially the vertical segments. Also, there are indicators above and below the central colon which can make it look like a vertical bar. The result is that I often have to look very closely at the clock to see what time it says. My eyesight is bad but not THAT bad! The segments all merge into what appears to be a random jumble of blue and black bars. The time sync is even worse. Several times I have checked the time in the middle of the night and found it reading something like 1:00pm! The minutes are right, but the hours are off by some random amount. Apparently the clock is trying to sync with WWV and not getting it right. The time goes off by many hours. It eventually corrects itself, but not until AFTER the alarm times. Not recommended. I am going to go back to my 30 year old Radio Shack clock. Update August 2019: I moved this clock to my kitchen where it can pick up a good radio signal. A few days ago I noticed one of the LED segments is failing. The lower right segment on the ones digit of the minutes is so dim it almost cannot be seen. Update March 2020 - All segments of the display are now flickering. It takes the clock 2 days to figure out how to change to daylight saving time, probably because it does not reliably receive WWV signals.

Good clock, bad power supply
Unlike my other La Crosse clocks, it was impossible to sync this one with WWVB unless the clock was oriented exactly east-west. It also incorrectly decoded the WWVB signal on two occasions, even though I'm only a thousand miles away. The manufacturer knows about the possibility of interference, and the clock dims the LED and disables the USB port when the clock is searching. Upon investigation, I discovered that the power supply emits huge amounts of radio interference--it literally makes a loud screeching sound on some frequencies. The RFI gets even worse if the clock tries to sync. The power supply seems to have been designed to be as light as possible and was not UL-listed. The solution was to replace it with an old transformer-based power supply from an old Sony radio. Now the clock works at any angle--even north-south--and it's able to decode the radio signal correctly every time.

Wow! An Atomic LED Clock! Love it!
I own other atomic clocks and watches. They are nice for people who care about the exact time. All clocks and watches begin losing the correct time by a few seconds within a day or two. Atomic clocks automatically reset their time every day, so the most they ever get off by is one second. In several months, an ordinary clock may be off by a few minutes. What makes this atomic clock very rare, is that it is LED (Light Emitting Diode) instead of LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) or analog (uses hands to tell the time.) All LED clocks require that they are plugged into the wall to display the time. LCD clocks often just run on batteries that you must replace each year. In addition, you cannot see them in the dark unless they are back lit. If they are back lit all the time, these clocks must also be plugged in to house current. LEDs are much easier to see, day or night. Unlike LEDS, LCDs are dependent on the light in the room and their visibility varies depending on the viewing angle. I bought this LED clock to sit below my 85” TV. The dimmer setting prevents this clock from distracting me while watching TV (or taking a nap.) I found the two light settings to be perfect - bright works even in the most sunny location and Dim is low enough to sleep. I did not need to read the simple instructions to start using the clock. As soon as I plugged the clock in, it set itself to the atomic time. It was off by 3 hours, so I changed the Time Zone to correct it. (just choose a number between 1-4, representing the number of US Time Zones.) The controls on the top of the clock are simple, which is welcome. Another setting is Daylight-Savings-Time (DST), which you set to ON if your area uses DST. A little dot lights up on the front of the clock to indicates this setting is ON. I was surprised to find the clock is thin enough so that the legs rest comfortably on my sound bar in another room - even with the power cord plugged into the rear! So I ordered a second one for that location. This is in a very sunny room and while the LED is bright enough on the high setting, glare from the windows can interfere at certain angles. See video as I walk about the clock on a sunny day. I use my Casio analog atomic watch to check the accuracy of my other atomic wall clocks. It's cool to see them all set to the exact second. After a week, I noticed one new LED clock was off by a few seconds. After experimenting, I found neither of these LED clocks can connect to the Atomic Time when facing South, and my second clock faces south. They must face West - toward Colorado. (I'm in Indianapolis.) So, the clock that will be facing south, I'll have to manually turn it towards the west and press the Time Set button whenever I want it to be accurate to the second. I did not test the alarms or the USB charger features. Note: Internet and mobile devices rely on GPS for the time. GPS uses the atomic clock time indirectly so they are very accurate too, though they may be off by a few seconds.

Great product
I read the 1 star reviews of people having problems with the clock finding the atomic signal and when it did, the clock was like 3 hours off....and I bought it anyway. When the clock arrived, it failed multiple times to auto set itself. I started to think I made a mistake. I moved it to the bedroom and it still wouldn't set itself after multiple attempts. So, I manually set it and started thinking I would return it. The next day, I noticed it finally was able to connect to the atomic signal and set itself, but it was now 3 hours behind..just like many reviews complained. I started playing around with settings and one setting was 4 (had no idea what that setting was), I changed it to 1 and suddenly the hour was correct. I assume 4 meant PST and 1 is EST (which is the time zone I live in) So, I give this 5 stars even though the time zone option should have been better explained in the instructions. The clock works as intended and is doesn't have all of the temperature and moon cycles that you see on many atomic clocks.
