Great mic system for those on a budget (or even not on a budget)
I picked these up to help make set up for my band easier as we have me singing and then 3 harmony vocals. So far the mics have been very impressive! These are a nice and less expensive alternative to the Shure BLX line. Build quality is pretty good. The mics are fairly light weight, but still metal and sturdy. The knobs on the receiver unit do feel a little flimsy, but the unit is meant to be rack mounted, so if you do keep it in a rack, you should be fine. Just take care of your gear lol. I did a first test at a solo gig I had and everything worked quite well. Put in batteries, plugged in the unit, turned it all on, and the mic synced up with no problems. The club was small, but I was about to get 20-30 feet to do a self sound check. Mic sounded clear with good dynamics. The frequency response is listed at 40Hz to18kHz (which is better than the BLX 50Hz to15kHz). While I didn't go too far, I had no dropouts or interference during a 3 hour gig. The next week the band used them. We run our pa on stage with a digital mixer. All 4 mics sounded great still with no interference or drops. The frequency hopping is really nice. And you only have to change it on the mic and then the receiver adjusts. This is a really nice low budget mic setup. It helps keep our stage less cluttered with cables, and makes setup faster. My ONLY complaint really is, it didn't come with mic clips. But that's an easy $10-$15 purchase on Amazon. I definitely recommend. Would buy again.

Great Wireless Mic system
I just unboxed the Phynex Pro PTU-5200 four mic wireless system. At first glance, the unit was nicely packed and protected. What attracted me to this system was the ability for the mics to change frequency if RF interference and/or dropouts occur. This contrasts with my older PTU-5000 system that does not allow for frequency changes. Before I get into the performance and quality, I want to mention that the PTU-5200 comes with brackets and screws to affix the unit to a 1U rack mount. My mobile Karaoke system mounts the unit to a shelf and therefore I did not use the mounting hardware. Another surprise was the addition of foam wind screens for all four mics. They’re vacuum packed but expand properly when removed from the package. The unit set up quickly and I plugged each mic output into the individual mixing channels on my mixer. If you don’t use an external mixer, there is a ¼ TS output with the combined mix of all four mics. The system comes with a ¼ TS to ¼ TS cable and even a ¼ to 1/8 adapter for added flexibility. Since I use an external mixer, I leave the system’s gain control in the 12 o’clock position as I assume this is unity. On my mixer, I set the mic gain for -8db at voice level and then use the mixer’s channel levels to adjust live. I also want to give a shout out to Phenyx Pro’s PTU-X wireless transmitter and receiver unit. (More on that later) I mention the PTU-X as I was concerned with possible RF interference between the 5200 mics and the PTU-X. (They both share the 500Mhz band) To test for interference, I set the PTY-X to a higher frequency than the default PTU-5200 frequencies. I can report that there were no issues but it is good to know that the frequencies are agile on both the PTU-X and PTU-5200. The sound quality on the mics was very good with acceptable overall response. That said, I always use a dynamic EQ to manage the low and high ends. (This is SOP with other mics as well) The included batteries lasted with full power noted on the mic’s battery indicator after 3 hours. My karaoke singers sounded great and I would compare it positively with mics at a higher price point. One head scratcher for me is the mic’s built-in volume control. Under the mic’s battery cover, there is a volume adjustment. When changing this setting, the mic’s display shows the number corresponding to the button selection. The mic’s default value is set to 15 which is max level. The included instruction booklet does not provide any guidance as to what to do with this adjustment. I simply left the setting in the default (15) and set the mic’s gain and volume using my external mixer. Phenyx should provide more information on this mic volume feature. I just wanted to mention the PTU-X as it has been a great addition to my setup. For my karaoke restaurant setup, I placed a second speaker array about 16 meters away from the stage area. Using the PTU-X allows me to run this second speaker to serve the far end of the restaurant without running additional cables. This really speeds up setup time and provides speaker placement flexibility. Helpful hint: If using the PTU-X at this distance, it helps to elevate both the transmitter and receiver about 7 ft above the floor (See pix) This really helps with signal fading due to the movement of people. I also run a 5V power source to the PTU-X Overall impression was very good. Considering the price point, I don’t think you can find a better value for the money.

Noise from mic after only 6 months.
These seemed like a tremendous value out of the box. I was worried karaoke particpants would be rough on the mics and didnt want to splurge of shure. They started out great, but unfortunately after less than six months of weekly use one of the mics is giving terrible noise and cannot be used. Without an easy way to replace just a mic, I now have a three mic system. I frequently have three people singing and like to reserve a personal mic that I know have to use from my PC. I really expected at least a year.

Quite good
Very durable function, I have used this for over a year. The first and fourth microphone require the antennas. The sound quality is reportedly very good, I set the mics in the middle of a table and it picks up in a several foot radius.

PTU-5200-4H
After spending some time with the Phenyx Pro PTU-5200-4H wireless microphone system, I came away genuinely impressed—especially considering the value it offers. This is a four-channel UHF wireless system with adjustable frequencies, a rated range of up to 200 feet, and an all-metal receiver and handheld microphones, making it a solid option for DJs, karaoke hosts, and live events. The first thing I noticed was the build quality. The microphones have a nice weight to them that makes them feel durable and professional without being overly heavy. The receiver also has a solid metal construction that inspires confidence that it can handle regular use and transport. Setup couldn’t have been much easier. Within just a few minutes everything was connected, synced, and ready to go. The frequency-hopping system paired the microphones quickly, and I didn’t have to spend time digging through menus or troubleshooting channels. What impressed me the most during testing was the wireless performance. I intentionally used multiple microphones very close together to see if I could create interference or crosstalk. Even with the handhelds in close proximity, I experienced no squelching, no unwanted interference, and no signal issues. Each microphone maintained a clean, stable connection throughout testing, which is exactly what you want in a multi-mic environment. Audio quality was also very respectable. Voices came through clearly with good presence, making the system suitable for announcements, karaoke, live performances, and DJ work.

Great and Budget Friendly
So I have had this microphone set for a year or so and I love it. I use it every week at an outdoor church event and they work flawlessly. Super responsive and easy to setup. I like the ability to adjust the frequencies if you are in a congested area with lots of wireless going on. All you have to do is adjust the frequency on the microphone and the main unit will adjust its self. Each microphone is paired to a a certain channel on the unit but not to a certain frequency. Battery life is great, I use rechargeable batteries and they last the entire set. I usually recharge each week just to be sure but they are usually on for about 3-4 hours and no issues. 2 things I have noticed. They do not fit in a lot of standard mic holders, so I ordered some spring clip ones and they hold on to them very well. The microphones is not super heavy so that makes a difference. second thing I noticed is that I did not have the anti-roll plastic piece on the microphone. One fell off a mic stand before I got the clip holders and the pop filter broke off. I was able to use some silicone and attach it back. Did not want to use glue incase I needed to repair anything or take the cover off. Microphone still works but I would advise to keep the anti-roll pieces on the microphone. I modified the packaging in the box, which I am using as its gig box, to be able to keep the anti-roll kit on at all times. Just incase one decides to fall again, especially since we have kids singing too. I would definitely recommend this microphone system for a house of worship or karaoke setup. Very budget friendly and great sound quality.

A great microphone set for DJ's, Karaoke, churches and wedding announcements.
The Phenyx Pro PTU-5200 Wireless microphone System – A great microphone set for DJ's, Karaoke, churches and wedding announcements. The Phenyx Pro PTU-5200 Wireless microphone System is a great value wireless microphone System. It includes four transmitters with each including 25 channels which helps finding a clear channel without interference. The build quality of the transmitters feels sturdy as the transmitters are metal. I especially liked that the battery power level was clearly displayed on the microphone. The microphones sound great for vocals and did not have a lot of handling noise, the package also includes four windscreens. Selecting frequencies was easy on the microphone and the receiver automatically syncs once you change the channel. The audio level is also clearly displayed on the receiver when a signal is coming in, which is great to know if signal is present. This is not a true Diversity system with two antennas per microphone, which is the standard on more expensive and top professional microphones. This system is also a fraction of the cost so that feature is not expected at this price point. This system didn't have dropouts when testing within the 200ft range. All in all The Phenyx Pro PTU-5200 microphone system is everything you expect from a great microphone system without a huge price tag. I would not hesitate to recommend the PTU-5200 to anyone looking for an affordable wireless microphone system. A+ Highly Recommended.
