Pure Protein Bars, High Protein, Nutritious Snacks to Support Energy, Low Sugar, Gluten Free, Chocolate Deluxe, 6 Count (Pack of 2)

I love Pure Protein bars so much! I switch between these and Quest bars. These are much easier on the wallet. I eat them when I am in a rush and need something fast. They have a lot of ingredients in them so I don't eat them much, but they taste great! I love warming them up in the microwave for 20 seconds. It makes for such a great, rich dessert, with practically no sugar content, and it is extremely satisfying. The value pack is why I purchased them on Amazon. Though they are a fairly good price in the store, they are even better in the value pack on Amazon. I really do love them. They don't have a funky aftertaste either. My favorite flavor is the chocolate. The other flavors I would pass on. My husband was skeptical of them at first, and he would refuse to eat them, but now he even loves them! He needs high protein levels because he donates plasma. These do the trick to keep his protein levels high. When I buy protein bars, these are the only ones that I will buy (besides Quest) because of the calories, taste and sugar content.

I have tried various protein bars to boost my muscle growth post-workout. I really hate protein powders. They just don't taste good with water, and I can't drink milk so it really limis my options to get the protein I need. Pure protein bars don't have the highest overall protein out of all the bars out there. You will easily find other bars with 30+ grams of protein. However, many of those bars easily have twice as many calories, and as I am trying to lose weight overall while gaining lean muscle mass, I don't really care for 350, 400 calorie protein bars. Most Pure Protein bars have 200 calories or less, while chocolate deluxe only has 180. I think Quest bars are comparable but they don't taste nearly as good (if you think Pure Protein bars are a little chalky, Quest tastes like straight up chocolate chalk) and I have heard horror stories of finding actual debris in those bars. They also cost more. No low calorie low sugar protein bar is going to taste like a special k or other brand bar that isn't specifically formulated for high protein / low calories. But these don't taste bad at all, considering. If you factor in the great price, I don't think you can go wrong if you're looking for a protein bar that maximizes the available protein while keeping calories low.

Honestly, when I have a protein bar, I'm not looking for taste. I just want something that will get my protein intake up. That said though, the Pure Protein bars taste great (I've had the chocolate, cookie, and s'mores flavors). On top of that, you get 20g protein, 17g carbs, and not too much fat. Lots of protein bars are loaded up with saturated fats which is something you really have to look out for (these bars have only 3g saturated fat). Another thing you should look out for is that a lot of protein bars are loaded up with sugar whereas the Pure Protein bars have almost none. Just as a note, large amounts of sugar are good if you are having the bar right after a workout because the high glycemic index sugars replenish your body's glycogen levels quickly, but if you're having the bar any other time of day you don't want a lot of sugar (you should be having your protein in liquid form after a workout anyway). I've looked at lots of nutrition labels for protein bars and these definitely are the best and they also taste great. Highly recommended.

For those of you who has acquired some knowledge on protein diet to lose weight or gain muscle, please know that this is ONLY A SUPPLEMENT - NOT FOOD PROTEIN. If you really want the purest form of protein, eat egg whites or lean meat (Chicken/Turkey Breast, Beef, etc). Ok, that being said, you cannot carry eggs around, that's where this bar comes into picture. It has excellent amount of protein (20g) and low carbohydrate. It tastes absolutely delicious. I have always used (about 4-5 bars in a week) DeTour and Myoplex Protein bars. Detour has about 30g and Myoplex has about 25g of protein but their carb content is higher as well, and so is the calories. I am trying to lose weight, so I am watching both proteins and carbs, also doing cardio 5 times a week. I am not a nutritionist, but I am pretty sure the contents of these protein bars contain mono-saturated fats, which is not so good for our health. So, limit the use of these products as much as you can. Also, it has whey and sugar alcohols (sugar replacement), which can upset stomach for some people. I had that trouble with Detour but got used to it. The important thing is that you drink atleast 8 fl oz of water while taking this. Also, please limit your intake of these bars to 1 per day due to sugar alcohol presence. Recently, I have done a lot of research and it's best to eat whole grains and vegatables/lean meat to lose weight, instead of taking supplements. Good luck to you all, I think these 12 bars will last me atleast 3 weeks. I took one star off just because I do not want to encourage myself or anyone else to get addicted to these bars. Otherwise, it tastes just like a chocolate.

I'm honestly not a fan of protein bars. They all taste like cardboard or mud to me, but my mother absolutely loves these. She munches on them constantly and insists they taste amazing. She loves that they're so dense and filling. I'm just pleased with the speed of arrival and the quality. I live on an island, and the humidity destroys pretty much everything. Any food I purchase has to be triple bagged and locked in sealed containers, and even then, it's usually all stale or ruined within a week. Most of the time, in fact, food purchased from stores ARRIVES stale and ruined. It's a serious problem, and there have been too many occasions when I've purchased these same protein bars and found them stale when I opened the box the same day of purchase. These bars, though, arrived within two days, even to my little island, where shipping always takes three or four days longer than it does to anywhere else. They were fresh, not melted, and wrapped so well in plastic that I didn't have to bag them as much. Several days later, they're still good. The price was also a little better than what I could find in stores, and since I ordered enough to qualify for free shipping, I'm doubly pleased. I'll be ordering these again.

I'm only writing this to inform - not gripe about these 'Pure Protein Power' bars. I absolutely love these but I had a subscription for these and had an extra two boxes on hand when this particular order arrived so I didn't think anything of it. Two months later, today, I open one of the boxes I received and noticed the white powder around the edges. These being chocolate, I knew the white powder was likely from them being old or having been in the heat then cooled or both. My point here is that you need to open at least one of the bars from each order when you get them and not wait until you have finished all the other boxes. This is especially true if when you order them, they are being delivered when it is warm/hot outside. Just to put a point on this - I've order 12 boxes over the last year and only this one order had this problem so these are great bars. Had I opened one when I first got these, I'm sure Amazon or the folks at Pure Protein would have happily replaced them. - Steve D.

I love the Pure Protein bars. I have not found anything better for the protein vs calories and excellent taste [compared to Caveman, Gatorade, MetRX, etc]. Of the 3 different flavors of Pure Protein I have tried, this was my least favorite (Chocolate Peanut Butter is my personal favorite). While not my favorite, it isn't bad which is why in the future I will purchase the multipack (3 different flavors) from SAMS because it was cheaper than AMAZON. If AMAZON ever matches the SAMS price, I would buy online to get the flavors I preferred-which would not include this one. That said, someone who is craving chocolate will enjoy this... you definitely get the chocolate taste (but little else). To me it is a little drier (pasty) and requires a drinking a little more water to fully enjoy it (which isn't a bad thing).

Good protein bars. Not too sweet, not too dry. Small and taste delicious.

I’ve had whey protein that tastes good and in multiple forms (shakes, bars, etc) but I’ve gotta admit none of them tasted quite as bad as this. It starts off ok - the first bite tastes good and you think you’ll finish the bar thoroughly satisfied having gotten your complement of protein. Yet when you do actually chew and swallow that first bite, you’re left wondering how you’ll go through all the 12 bars. The taste is really awful after a few chews and the after taste is downright disgusting. I’m hoping to find myself in situations where I’m properly famished - so much so that I find an excuse to put another of these bars in my mouth and get my moneys worth
