Does the screen protector impede the s pen use at all?

It hasn't for me. Im not drawing artwork on it but for not taking general doodling etc it seems to work fine. Even the fingerprint reader works. Occasionally the fingerprint isn't recognized but it generally works

Should we purchase tempererd glass and this case which includes protector? Or, is this overkill?

The built in screen protector doesn't provide much protection. It is too easily scratched. I removed it and the adhesive holding it on the case front and then used a tempered glass protector. This says that it won't fit with a screen protector, but it works fine with the built in one removed.

Is this case easy to grip or will it slip out of your hands?

Very easy to grip, does not slip at all. Case is slim, not bulky. Overall, I love this case so far...
